“Who?” He asked, raising his eyebrow. “I don’t know any of them. Honestly am I supposed to and besides, I think I know where I’m from. Which is here.”

“No, you’re right. Your eyes are completely normal. For a fucking lizard!” He replied. “I don’t know what you want me to say though, I always look like this. Can’t really change that.”

(¸.• ♛ → “Not exactly” So maybe Alec forgot about him? He has that change of personality? It could be. A small sigh escaped from her lips, looking at him “Hold on, dog? Alec, tell me, do you remember me?” The redhead asked, now looking at him, after all, she just needed to know all of that, just in case.

“Yeah, he’s the one that adopted the dog from me, right? Unless their is another Magnus I should know?” He shook his head. “Am I supposed to remember  you? You really don’t look familiar, sorry.” He frowned. “I’ve lived here my whole life, and there’s only so many people I actually know.”

Okay, so he wasn’t seeing things with the other’s eyes then? He blinked a few times, shaking his head. “I... Did I accidentally take something somewhere?” He asked, his eyes never leaving the others wings. “And you asked how I looked like you when you’re the one with wings and weird ass eyes?”

magnus returned the smile ❝you have a really nice smile you know that?❞ he couldn’t get over how much, and how wide alec was smiling. in fact, if he hadn’t introduced himself, magnus would’ve thought it was someone else.  he thought about it ❝why don’t you pick the name? since you know him a little better❞  he offered alec. ❝your right, he’s too cute for something odd❞

magnus almost never called alec, alec. it was always alexander to him. it was almost odd, and felt unnatural. he smiled  ❝both, but this one is one i am trying to open, open by new years, but good help is so hard to find. i have one person who’s been a big help, but i need more.❞ he shook his head  ❝what about you? do you like going to clubs?❞

Alec laughed, “Thank you.”  He blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn’t used to getting compliments like that or at all, but he found he liked it. He was surprised when Magnus said he could name the dog. His eyes widened slightly, but he nodded. “If I had found a way to keep him for myself, I was going to name him Max.” He stated, petting the dog again. “Kinda looks like a Max, doesn’t he?”

 “Ah. I could work around my schedule with the pet store and help out, if you’d like? I don’t particularly enjoy them, no. I know people that like to go to those, though.But I mean, honestly I could help if you need it. I’m not sure what all I could do, but...” He shrugged.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” he hissed, studying the look a like for a moment before pushing him away from Don. “We aren’t Tia and Tamera Fucking Mowry,” he spat, “so you’re full of shit”

“Never mind. I was just... probably seeing things.” He shrugged. That had to be it. He couldn’t think of any other explanation. He snorted. “They’re women and we’re men, so no, of course we aren’t them.”

He actually wasn’t sure about that. Maybe it was just from it being so overplayed that they were stuck in his head in the same order and that was why he couldn’t sleep. “Magnus? Why would I see Magnus? Is the dog okay? Was there problems already?” He frowned. “Who are you? I mean clearly you know my name so is that because of him?”

“No, it’s non existent because it doesn’t exist. Now or ever.” Alec snorted. “This is shitty music is what this is. It’s nice for Christmas day, sure, but not the week leading up to it.”

jace was near to bursting. prior to this, he’d never particularly cared about the holidays, he hadn’t favored them nor dismissed them, but this? oh, this was far too much. not only was he dressed entirely in red and white, but the entire town had been flooded with loud, repetitive christmas music for hours. if he had the opportunity to find the one who’d done this to them, he’d make sure they paid dearly. a familiar voice was the only thing capable of drawing him from his stupor. “alec?” he blinked. something was wrong. his words didn’t make sense. "what are you talking about? this isn’t your home.”

There was something strangely familiar about the male currently talking to him. Maybe at some point that had been friends? Maybe that’s how the other knew his name but he couldn’t pinpoint how he knew him and then he mentioned that this wasn’t his home? “Of course it is. The building beside us isn’t, if that’s what you mean. I live up a little further.” He shrugged. “How do you know my name, though? Did you work at the pet shop at one point? Like a week? We had a guy there that lasted a week and stopped showing up...”

“Look like me, you sarcastic asshole,” he snapped, his eyes momentarily becoming reptilian before returning to their normal brown. “I’ve lived here my entire life so I need some fucking answers. NOW”

If Alec hadn’t already been against the wall before, he would have definitely been now. “How’d you do that with your eyes? I can’t do that with mine...” He shook his head. Maybe he was seeing things? The lack of sleep the past few nights could have caused that. “I have as well and I’ve never seen you around before.”

magnus couldn’t help but laughed a little at alec. he seemed so, different, in a good way. magnus loved alec, and didn’t want him to change, but he seemed ighter, happier without the weight of the world on his shoulders. alec tried to much to take on everyone’s problems as his own, and magnus could see it weighing on him from time to time. but he didn’t want to say anything. magnus couldn’t remember when he saw alec smile so much in just a regular conversation. he knew it was bad, but a part of him didn’t want alec to be anything but this happy.  ❝well you can always come by and see him. i have two buisnesses, so he’ll always be with me❞ he smiled  ❝i can’ come with you if you want?❞ he suggested 

he smiled  ❝oh i highly doubt they are cuter than you, but if you say so❞ he winked  ❝nice to meet you alec❞ he held out his hand  ❝well i hope the dog isn’t the only reason you stop by. i mean if i am not here, good chances, i am at my club, trying to get that open❞ he smiled. 

Magnus telling him he could always go see the dog had him smiling even brighter. “I’d love that. And I’m sure he’d love that too. Sure, we can do that. It’ll make it easier, probably. Did you want to decide on a name for him? You’re going to need one for the paperwork. But please do not name him something weird. He’s too cute for weird names.” 

Scoffing, Alec shook his head. “Nice to meet you too.” He replied, shaking his hand. He wasn’t sure why, but with the other calling him Alec, it didn’t exactly settle well. He was just about to ask why else he would stop by when Magnus mentioned about himself not being there and Alec blushed, looking away from him. “Oh? So you like clubbing then or just running one?”

“Do you really think I did that to let you ask me that?” he questioned, his grip on the male’s shirt tightening. “I’m going to say it one more time, how are you doing this?” he growled

“Ask you to kiss me first or why you look like me?” He asked, grinning. He could tell it was pissing the other guy off if the growl had anything to say about it. “I think you might have to be a bit more specific. How am I doing what?”

seeing alec stumble over his words, and be nervous brought magnus back to when they first met. how he too felt butterflies, and nervous feelings. in a way it was like being reminded of how and why he fell in love with the shadowhunter, he couldn’t help but smile at alec. magnus laughed  ❝alright, alright you sold me on him❞ he  looked at the dog who licked his face. magnus noticed he got some glittery on the dog ❝and now he’s officially mine, glitter and all❞ magnus laughed. he hoped clary wouldn’t have minded a new furry companion around the apartment. ❝so do i fill out paper work, or what?❞ he asked 

❝and if i have a problem, what do i go the pet store and ask for the cute guy with green eyes to help me or do you have a name?❞ magnus of course knew alec’s name, but he didn’t want to weird him out. he heard how some of the people who had lost or mixed up memories, slowly got some back, but until then, he didn’t want to scare him away. of course that didn’t stop magnus from shamelessly flirting with him either. it didn’t stop him when they met, and it wasn’t gonna stop him now.         

“Really?” A grin formed on his face. “That’s great! He’s been my best friend since the moment I saw him and I really wanted to keep him but I feel like he’s going to have a great time with you and hopefully you’ll enjoy him too!” He stated before nodding. “Y-You’re supposed to. I kind of forgot to bring the paperwork. I was just really excited to try to find him a home.” He admitted. “I can go back to the store and get it though and come back with it?” 

He tilted his head. He hadn’t thought about that. “You can do that, yeah. Though if you’re going to ask for cute guys I can almost guarantee you that you might not get me. Especially on the days I’m not there. But uh, y-you can always ask for Alec. That’s me. Otherwise you might get Tony. He’s probably cuter than I am, actually, but...” He shrugged. “Or I could give you my number and you can always call if there’s a problem and I could just stop here at the bookstore if you need anything?” Alec wasn’t sure why he said that, knowing that was the least professional thing he could do, but everyone at the pet store knew his love for reading and so he could easily say he was visiting for that. Or for the dog...

Alec rolled his eyes. How hard was it for people to comprehend things? And how many times did he have to say it to people? “Yes to all of it.” There, simple. “Even the being confused about the town itself is normal. Even for those of us that have been here forever.”
