There's always a price

Hornet's up first to be turned into a bird. Due to the thematic importance of her only being half weaver, she is the only character that will be a true (and impossible) hybrid.

Since she's a boss in Hollow Knight, she's fighting Ghost. I want to make illustrations of a lot of the bossfights, so Hornet gets one here.

More explaining stuff under cut

Hornet's crests change her appearance slightly to be like different birds that fit the other crests. If you can't read my handwriting, here they are:

Hunter: her base form, no changes.

Reaper: Harris Hawk

Wanderer: American Kestrel, since the crest is based on the Knight and they're a kestrel.

Beast: Bearded Vulture. Plus a rosary string for fun.

Witch: Brown-headed Cowbird, the same as Greyroot.

Architect: Cockatiel

Shaman: Burrowing Owl.

Incidentally, gyrfalcons and white-headed buffalo weavers look sort of similar, which made creating Hornet's design a lot easier.
