Maia was very much in denial about her sexuality up until she met Tasha. When she met Tasha, she was at a all time low and Tasha told her everything she wanted to hear. Because of how hard she fell for Tasha, she pretty much forgot how horrible it was for her when she was younger to be out. Tasha told her whatever Maia wanted to hear, whatever would make her trust her more.
