Wowie its really been a while since I’ve actually posted my art here. But hey, that’s alright because the hiatus from this blog gave me plenty of time to improve since I last posted!
It really also has been a while since I’ve drawn my og characters so being able to see them in my current style just fills me with so much joy? Its wild.
Summary: An odd reunion of hunters.
A/N: this really serves no purpose other than totally spoiling everything but even then it’s sorta bad anyway. Is been a while since I’ve written something at least decent so I decided to write down something in like… an hour. So it’s just something to get me back into writing. This was also meant to be in third person but whoops it… didn’t happen. Sorry if there’s any mistakes.
Silence. Only the whistle of the crisp breeze filled my ears. Every once in a while a chirp or bark from a beast echoed from the forest miles away.
I was told she’d be here, but I’ve searched for so long. Years have passed. Decades. Centuries. Generations. Ages.
He lied to me. To keep me in a chase lasting an eternity. This is my Timeless, isn’t it? Was I punished for saving her life? Was I punished for my choice of a mate? Why would that be possible? I knew he’d draw back that law, I knew he would. Because obviously even he couldn’t keep his eyes off of mortal flesh.
The spirit left me as well. She no longer accompanies the blade I wield. The sharp edges of her personality. Her dark humor reflecting from the deep void of her blade. No light could penetrate such darkness. She was an endless void. And now her silence creates a void in my memory. In my own spirit.
There is nothing more than the hope of finding my daughter. My stomach clenches when the thought of her death crosses. When it dares to creep into my mind.
I wouldn’t know what to do, knowing the last of my bloodline has passed. I couldn’t kill myself, I have a duty to do. Even then it’s not like I can.
I sit on a stump and set my blade down, Aesolore’s silence haunting me. Why did she go? What was her purpose? Who took her from me?
I frowned, letting the dark blade fall to the grass. The white blades of earth contrasted to her dark form, making it seem even darker than the endless void of her surface.
I crossed my legs on the stump, watching the false stars set. No heat comes from their light, not like Vaemyth and Apyth. What poor souls. To have gone through what they did, being twin gods of the stars. Being slain under the nose of Aeregele. No one knew of their passing besides the one who caused it. Not for a while.
I still wonder if that’s still happening. If that… freak was taken care of.
I hum. Nothing to do but wait, knowing this is the spot I was told she’d be. In the center of this land, she’d be here by sundown. I kept eye on the false stars, as golden as they’d be heat still never reached me.
The white and lavender grass and forests became painted gold. I continued to watch as the violet shadows lengthened, the crisp breeze hitting the back of my neck like small blades.
I looked over my shoulder when I heard something irregular. It sounded like metal on metal, scraping. Scratching. My ears rang when I saw her, Artbenlore in her grasp, the hilt holding back the stardust scythe. It shimmered against the gold of the setting star. I stood, towering over the two knowing who they are.
She found me.
I took Aesolore from the grass, and set the end of the hilt onto the white dirt. I felt Moral’s eyes on me from beneath his mask. He stepped back, taking his blade away from my daughter slowly.
Maiatan, my daughter, turned her head slightly to briefly watch me. A small smirk lightly pulled at her lips. She backed up to stand beside me, holding her axe wearily. The golden eye of the blade’s spirit glared at the oojack in front of us.
I wouldn’t never thought he’d be alive. It’s been so long since I last saw him.
“I will warn you again,” Maiatan spoke. Her voice loud and full of power. “Leave at once, else your head will be my next trophy.”
I heard Moral snort behind his mask as he stood straight. He kept his eyes on me, I could feel his daring gaze. Then he spoke, his raspy voice muffled slightly. “How could you let her do this to me, Father? You were supposed to protect me. Why don’t you now, knowing I’m still living.”
I frowned, my grip on Aesolore tightening. I never wanted this to happen to him. What dark magic was brought upon his broken soul? I can feel the corruption in his mind. The pain he must be going through.
“Who controls you, small one?” I asked.
“I am controlled by no one,” he answered slowly, “I was just gifted with a new life. That’s all.”
He chuckled behind the mask. The raspiness of his voice killing my ears. He sounded as if he had been screaming since his death. Surely that couldn’t have been.
“Enough with the chat,” Maiatan growled, readiness in her stance. “You refuse to heed my warning. Leave at once or be punished!” She snarled when Moral cried out, a dangerous rumble in his throat.
He disappeared.
Maiatan continued to turn, watching our surroundings. “I don’t feel his presence anymore,” I reassured her after noticing the dark weight having lifted off my chest. The atmosphere surely didn’t like his presence.
“Good,” she said, turning to me and letting Artbenlore go. The battle axe floated beside us, her judgment shining in her golden eye. Maiatan smiled lightly and fell into me. I held her in my arms. I haven’t seen her in so long. “I missed you so much,” she said, her heavy voice cracking. She dragged me to the floor and we sat there for what felt like forever.
It’s been so long since I’ve held my daughter. What has she done since our separation?
Summary: A thought process after a test. No memories. No movement. Just blood. Distortion. Glass. Crystal. Shards.
A/N: holy shit okay so this happened. This sort of introduces Maiatan’s weird thought process and somewhat how she was tested by Aeregele. Sadly she wasn’t tested before EoG, but instead before Paradise. I don’t know. This was supposed to bring lore into this picture, but it didn’t happen so I guess y’all will have to wait for the actual story. Hope y’all enjoy :3
I remember opening my eyes, watching the stars as they pass. But I didn’t remember being there. Or where I was. Even my own identity was unbeknownst to me.
Who was I? When did I get here? Why am I here?
I heard a deep voice. But I couldn’t pin on what he said. It sounded… melodic? Yet it also sounded distorted. Almost like one of those metal sheets used to sound like thunder in a play. It sounded like that; quivering. Not in a scared or sad way. Like when your lip quivers when you’re about to cry or your voice catches in a sob. It was wavy. Staticky, too?
What was he saying?
Hello? Goodbye? Welcome?
It had to be something. So I moved. I sat up. Why was I lying down in a field of grass, watching the stars as they pass? The grass was somewhat wet, almost like it rained a few hours ago. There were no clouds in the sky. Not even a moon. Or two. Or three. Nothing was there but the galaxies above. And below. And around.
A marble.
That’s what I got from that distortion. Should I even call it a distortion. A sound perhaps? Was it even a sound? Was it a feeling instead? A thought?
A marble of what? Where was this voice coming from? What did it mean by… a marble?
Did he mean just the small orb with fancy little designs in them. Smooth surface. Shiny surface. Sparkles. Lines. Spirals. Shapes. Gases. Stars. Specs.
A marble of existence? A separate way of living within the stars. Galaxies. Gases. Clouds. Specs. Shards. Glass. Crystals.
I stood weakly. Have I never stood before? When was the last time I moved? My feet numb and my legs weak. My back sore and my neck… my chest… constricted. Breathe… Air. Gas. Blood.
Can I not breathe? Do my lungs not work? What air is this marble made of? Is there air? Are we just suspended in nothingness? Vacuum. Void. Ice. Glass. Shards.
My lungs felt penetrated. I inhaled. Impossible. Blood. Glass.
I coughed painfully. Blood. Glass. Crystal. Shards.
I woke once again. Stiff. My bones felt old and worn. Sore. Everything about me just felt… ancient.
“I’ve never seen a Star Hunter pass out from just standing,” someone said. The voice was deep. That melodic tone again. But this time different. It no longer quivered like a distortion. Thought.
I went to speak. I strained my throat. Blood. No matter how much I tried, no noise could be produced. Only a weak breath. Blood.
Where was I? What’s a Star Hunter?
I couldn’t move either. White. All I saw was a white sky. Ceiling. Lights. Am I in a room? Why? Where? When?
“I apologize for your state,” he said again. A rumbling deep in his voice. Thunder. Bubbling like lava. “You’ll be back to shape in no time.” Time. How much time? How much longer will I feel this way? Or is this the only way I will feel.
My body. Not only sore. Felt numb. A numbness in me that hurt. That type of numb you get when you get a bad injury. It hurts. But doesn’t. Someone could cut off my arm and I’d feel nothing. Yet something.
“Can you move now?” The voice asked.
It took much effort, but I was able to turn my head to look where I thought the voice was. My neck popped from the slow movement, having not moved in such a long time. I assume. I wasn’t expecting to see someone like him. His face felt vaguely familiar. He wore quite formal attire, bringing out his dark skin and pure white hair that was tied in a bun. Flame. His white eyes looked old and tired.
Void. His left sleeve had been rolled up, showing his arm which was covered in a black substance that seemed to move across his skin and slowly drip onto the floor, but never make contact. Never draining. Never disappearing. Endless. Void. Corrupt.
He took a step closer to me. Staring at me with those white eyes. Soulless. They showed no emotion. No pain. No love. He grew weary of the universe. He has seen it come and go. He remembers. He’s aware.
“You took quite the beating for a while,” he rumbled. I noticed his large horns, they looked worn and ancient. Just like the rest of him. Cracks and splinters littered the pale surface. “But you prevailed and now you’ve succeeded.”
“Have I?” I asked, watching him. Silent. His white eyes boring into my skull. Soulless. Picking at my brain. Observe.
“I presume you want your memories back.”
“Of course I would,” I replied. I will get to know me. Myself. Who I am. What I am. Where I belong and have always belonged.
“Good,” he said. “Sadly…”
I frowned. Silence. Ringing.
“Sadly you might have to go through with this challenge again,” he mumbled, “but I would have to speak to Aeregele about it.”
“Will I—”
“You will have many of the things you ended with. So it won’t be as difficult as before. It will go quick and won’t be timed. You will have choices that won’t impact your memories,” he explained, “and you will be reunited with Toai.”
“Good.” Vaguely, I remember him. Black. White. Angel. Demon. Scales and furs. Icy blue eyes. Curved Claws. Curved Spines. Curved teeth.
He left. Walking away. I couldn’t even hear his footsteps. No noise. Just silence. Gliding across the room. Through the doorway. The door slid close behind him, avoiding his large tail.
I lied there. Silence. Wondering what that test was to begin with. I barely remembered. But I could still hear it. The roaring of monsters. Hissing. Flapping of wings. Scorching of plant life from fire. Burning. Crackling.
An example of why Maia is beautiful and perfect in some of the Bloodborne sets.
Also I apologize for recoloring the Hunter’s set (with the top hat). The greens and browns didn’t look so well on her and it made me sick just looking at it.
Maiatan was born and mostly raised in an unnamed village in the forest bordering the krescent and oojacku regions. She was an only child of Abbegaile Anthony (an oojack) and Scott Anthony (a Lagai), her older brother (Moral) having died when she was younger.
She lived in a poor family, which wasn’t rare in their village. They barely had enough food for the family of three. Maiatan and her mother would be the ones eating what food they had when they had it, Maia’s father not wanting to waste food on himself knowing he doesn’t have to eat as much as the rest of his family.
Maiatan inherited a lot from her father, but the most obvious is the oddly natural color of her hair and eyes. Many have never met Scott but Maiatan inherited his own physical traits, mostly being tall and large. At first, it’s not obvious that Maiatan is female because of her broad shoulders and face. And being almost… freakishly tall.
Maiatan was born before a war that was between the two species her parents were. Two species so similar it’s sometimes hard to tell them apart. The war, known by her people as The Hunt, came over the whole world of Tailnrr almost like some disease. In her village Maiatan was forced to flee, her father and mother protecting her as they led her away and further into the Krescent region. Her mother was slain and her father just simply disappeared.
Maiatan lived most her life on the streets in Krescent, but because of the kind nature of her people she was always cared for by someone different everyday. It was odd to her, though, as her village had done the exact different and always has. After a few years, near her 500th year, she met a scout hunter. She knew hunters had existed but she has never met one before.
Scout hunters are hunters that only bring weapons in a hunt as a last resort. These scouts usually come along in hunts to help rookies train, they’re packed with the resources needed to spot monsters and quickly trap or stun them. Scouts are usually paired with sharp eyesight and hearing, yet Maiatan was surprised to learn that the scout she met was blind. He relied mainly on his sense of smell and hearing.
The scout, named Dairien, taught her what he could, knowing she’d make a great hunter. Hunting would be a job that’ll give her enough money to have full meals everyday and even enough money to buy a house, just by hunting for a week or so. It always depends on the Monster the amount of payment you get.
For the rest of her life she’s continued her career as a Krescent Hunter, usually hunting solo. She found a point in her hunts though that less monsters attacked the cities and towns of Krescent, which pleased her. Only a few of the monsters brave enough to face against Maia would come and deliberately attack Aergele, the main city of Krescent where the hunters thrive.
After finding that less and less monsters came to attack, Maiatan found herself becoming a trainer for rookie hunters and every once in a while scouting for them in hunts.
Dairien, never really scouted much anymore after Maiatan became a true hunter, he was promoted by the region’s leader as guildmaster. So he was usually seen by her in the gatherings with a large book he’s always marking in. Sometimes he’ll help. Even when he keeps to himself, it’ll never stop her from talking to him.
Maiatan quickly learned that Dairien had been going out with another hunter, who had convinced him that he shouldn’t be hunting anymore due to his horrible asthma. He may be a skilled hunter but he scares too many hunters when he has an asthma attack during hunts.
When Maiatan met the hunter, Amair, she was surprised of his rankings, especially since he’s also a solo hunter like her and the fact that he doesn’t hunt as much as she does. She hadn’t realized that a hunter who mainly wielded guns at hunts would make it as far as him alone.
Dairien and Amair made sure Maiatan always felt at home when she was around and always made her feel a part of the family they were.
Becoming a Star Hunter was difficult from her. After the war and after the discovery of the gateway to Mai-Jayle, she was taken by Crimson to be tested so she could prove her worth of being a Star Hunter. It’s a title she wouldn’t have ever expected to receive, but seeing as her father was one of course she would have a chance.
On her journey she hatched a dragon and new companion, Toai, who had a gene mutation that caused half his body to be black and the other white, along with his daem-like horns being grown asymmetrically.
It was arduous but she was able to make it through the test in 10,000 years, the limit she had as most chosen don’t make it in time (which seems odd but it’s true).
Of course when she came back she spent as much time as she could with her family she had left for the test. It wasn’t much, just Amair and Dairien and the rest of the hunters.
Her death was unsatisfying, but she lived a full life at least and received a proper ceremony for her accomplishments.
