I’d like you to meet the Maiava Royal Family of Sulani. the Maiava Royal Family consists of King Manu and his wife, Queen consort Kayli Mahaelani, and their twin teenage daughters Crown Princess Kai and Princess Moana.
Please Note: They are all Mermaids, as is tradition for Sulani to have monarchs who are connected with both land and the ocean.
King Manu and Queen Kayli were highschool sweethearts, even though their marriage had been arranged by King Manu’s parents and Queen Kayli’s parents since they were children. Of all the monarchs, King Manu and Queen Kayli have the best relationship because they were best friends before they became lovers and eventually got married. King Manu trusts Queen Kayli with his life and knows her worth as a strong, kind, loving and intelligent woman. King Manu and Queen Kayli have a very close relationship with their daughters and are loved by all of Sulani. They don’t have much interactions with the other kingdoms but are planning on reaching out to them to expand the potential of Sulani’s economy.

Meet Crown Princess Kai. She’s slightly shy and not very social by nature, but she tries to be outgoing because she knows her duties as the future Queen of Sulani. She’s very kind and is liked by most of her friends. Growing up, Princess Kai was the smarter and more quiet twin, so she showed great potential as the future Queen due to her intellect. King Manu always pays more attention to Kai’s studies and grades and occasionally approaches her with problems going on in the kingdom to get her opinion. He trusts her very dearly and calls her his ‘pride’. Crown Princess Kai’s favourite colours are blues and greens.
Finally, meet Princess Moana. Moana was named as such because when she was born, she cried a lot more violently than Princess Kai did and Queen Kayli likened her cries to the violent thrashing of the ocean waves. Hence ‘Moana’ which means ‘Ocean’ in ‘Sulanian’. Princess Moana is different from her sister but they are not opposites. Moana can be kind, but Kai is kinder. Moana is pretty smart, but Kai is smarter. Priness Moana, however, is more outgoing. She loves social gathering and being around friends, hence, she has more friends even though they both run within the same circle of royal and noble children. She knows how to have fun, unlike Princess Kai, which is why King Manu laughs a lot more whenever he’s around Moana. He enjoys her presence so much that he calls her his ‘joy’. Princess Moana loves the colours pink and yellow.
