There's nothing wrong in trying it out - who knows? It may be a great oneshot! You are definitely not a disappointment so don't restrain yourself and like most writers; explore~

And to answer your question about ASTS...  i just haven't really felt like writing lately. recently its just felt like a burden and other than a couple of people, i feel like not that many people really care about my writing anymore. so why bother writing if no one is gonna read it or give me feedback on it.
