Okay I'm not even lying here, I was literally thinking about how nice it would be to have a Lalasa when I went to check my blog stats & followers etc and you wERE THERE. AT EXACTLY THAT MOMENT. Talk about your good timing.
Lalasa's another one of those characters that's hard to pin down: she has a very significant arc that doesn't start or finish in easily defined places. Sure she's a "shrinking violet" in the beginning but she's also stubborn in her own way, and has a clearly defined view of the world. And in the end she doesn't magically become a "warrior female" even though she is more confident and capable of handling herself. And I'm absolutely seeing that in your writing, which we will so have to do more of. I love exploring relationships (non romantic) between characters that are only tangential in the source material and tbh I think that Neal & Lalasa have so much potential!
