Gameweek 2.1- Friday Recap

Watch this space, Bowen fans. I have a sneaking suspicion after I trade him for someone else ahead of Gameweek 3 he'll maybe, I dunno, do quite literally anything. Love West Ham, but with a loss to a promoted side and then yesterday's 5-1 ass whooping from Chelsea... Things are looking pretty rough.

Point Breakdown/Bonus Points

Bowen earned two whole points for existing on the pitch for the full 90'.

Today's bonus points were awarded to Joao Pedro, Paqueta, and Caicedo.

Overall Standings

The Good Old Dias having had 1 representative from Friday's fixture who did very little in-game, I was set 9 points behind the average score, but I'm not too worried about it.

League Standings

Battle of the exes: Mans is 16 points ahead of me this week alone. Yikes.

College derby: I know he's never met my ex, but they both had the same Chelsea players in their starting XI's, so I'm also 16 points behind- at least for now.

Online friend: Homegirl had 0 players in Friday's fixtures, so I'm 2 points ahead in this league.

Gameweek 22.1- Saturday Recap

Woke up early this morning to watch one of the most embarrassing Manchester Derby's I've seen in a while, worked a 10+ hour long shift, and now I'm home before I let the night life commence. Both City and United lost a Ruben, but United seems to be doing a lot better without theirs. Let's get into it.

Point Breakdown/Bonus Points

Donnarumma brought in 2 points today, picking up points for 90' on the pitch and 5 saves made, but losing a point to goals conceded.

Big Gabi brought in 7 points toady, playing a full 90', maintaining a clean sheet, and picking up a bonus point while he was at it.

Marc Guehi didn't even play, allowing Jurrien Timber's 5 points to transfer in once the gameweek's concluded. Timber earned his 5 through 90' and a clean sheet, but dropped a point to a yellow card.

In the midfield, Declan Rice picked up 3 points of his own through 90' on the filed and a clean sheet.

Gravenberch picked up 2 points through his 77' contribution.

Similarly, Semenyo brought in 2 points through his 90' on the pitch for City.

Captained Haaland brought in 4 points, having played 79'.

Last, but not least, Thiago brought in 2 points of his own via a 90' contribution.

Today's bonus points were awarded to TDorgu, Fernandes, Mbuemp. Sanchez, Joao Pedro, Chaloba, James, Justin, Ampadu, Nmecha, Wirtz, Edwards, Dubravka, Summerville, Wilson, Fernandes, Brobbey, E. Le Fee, Yeremy, Sels, Saliba, Gabriel, and Murillo.

Overall Standings

9 points below the average, 4 if we're preemptively counting Timber's points towards my squad. Yikes.

I've brought in an additional 22 points this week, I'm sitting 76 points behind this week's top scorer thus far, and my season total's at 1,305 now.

League Standings

Tumblr league: 1st place with a 39 point lead, really needing the rest of my squad to come through.

Battle of the exes: 1st place here still, I have widened the gap to an 157 point lead.

College derby: 1st place here too with 90 points on the old school chum.

Online friend: 1st place here as well! I've picked up a 216 point lead.

Intercontinental derby: 1st place with a 86 point lead.

Gameweek 7.3- Sunday Recap

Freshly tatted, of course leagues only updated when I was on my way to the tattoo shop. Let's get into it!

Point Breakdown/Bonus Points

Kelleher picked up 3 points today, having played 90' and making 3 saves. I don't know if I've mentioned it yet, but I really didn't think the game he played City was the game I'd play him. Wishing Alisson a speedy recovery, The Good Old Dias certainly misses him.

Marc Guehi brought in his own 3 points today. He also played a full 90', he earned points for defensive contributions, though he lost a point for conceding 2 goals.

Ruben Dias! The namesake of the squad, the man of the hour. My Ruby brought in 9 points today, contributing 90' on the pitch, maintaining a clean sheet, making 11 defensive contributions, and picking up a bonus point. Hope he keeps this up!

Last, but certainly not least, Erling Haaland brought in 8 points of his own today, playing 90', contributing the only goal of the match, and earning 2 bonus points in the meantime.

Today's bonus points were awarded to Malen, Cullen, Ugochuckwu, Grealish, Sarr, Tarkowski, O'Brien, Ndiaye, Guimaraes, Burn, Thiaw, Van Hecke, Bueno, Arias, Gvardiol, Haaland, and Dias.

Overall Standings

Maintained my 23 points above the average take home this week, I'm rather proud of myself these days!

I've got a total of 451 points thus far this season, if we're not in a league together, comment your total!

League Standings

Tumblr league: Earned 1st place, though I've only got a 19 point lead, so I don't plan on getting too comfortable here.

Battle of the exes: 1st place here as well! I've widened the gap to a 75 point lead.

College derby: 1st place here too! I've similarly stretched this gap, though my lead has only reached 51 points. I'm very comfortable though it's still early, I'm sure we'll go back and forth quite a few more times before the season comes to a close.

Online friend: 1st place as well, I've widened the gap to an 131 point lead, very confident in this league being mine, even if it is early on- though I may grow to eat those words.

Intercontinental derby: He managed to close the gap a bit today! I'm in 1st place with a 55 point lead, and eager to see how long I can hold it.

Next weekend being International Break, it might be easy to stray, but I'll still be posting! I'll be sending out a poll on Wednesday, then there'll be some rambles and footy asks through the weekend! In the meantime, stay sunny :)

Gameweek 6.1- Saturday Recap

So... I did a thing! Last minute I decided to triple captain Haaland and it sure did pay off! Let's get into it shawtayyyyys.

Point Breakdown/Bonus Points

Alisson picked up 2 points today through 90', conceding 2 goals, but! making 5 saves. If the rest of the squad didn't pull so much weight I might be a bit more devastated looking at the 8 points on my bench, but I'm going to try to keep the complaining to a minimum (for now).

Marc Guehi picked up 7 points through 90' on the pitch, an assist, and 11 defensive contributions.

Ruben Dias picked up 2 points today from his 90' contribution.

Virgil.... Virgil Van Dijk,,, what HAPPENED. Bro brought in 2 points through 90' of playing time, 12 defensive contributions, but a yellow and 2 goals conceded...

Senesi!! Picking it back up for the back line, Marcos Senesi brought in 7 points today through 90' of playing time, an assist, a bonus point, 15 defensive contributions, and conceding 2 goals.

Rodri didn't play today so hopefully come Monday evening his points will be swapped for whatever Bowen picks up.

Moving up to midfield Antoine Semenyo brought in 7 points through 90' and a goal in that time.

ERLING HAALANDDDDDDD ugh, the man. Triple captained and SO happy that I did. I got an additional 48 points to the pot through his brace against Burnley today. With 90' of playing time, 2 goals, 1 assist, and 3 bonus points, today could not have been hotter nor tastier, dear reader.

Last but not least, Chris Wood brought in 2 points through 89' on the pitch today.

Today's bonus points were awarded to Thiago, Sesko, Henderson, Welbeck, Enzo, De Cuyper, Sarr, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Longstaff, Kroupi Jr, Senesi, Haaland, Doku, Nunes, Alderete, Roefs, Xhaka, Palhinha, Bueno, and Arias.

Overall Standings

42 points ahead of the average from today, with 3 more players to add to the pot, I'm optimistic and over the moon with this week's performance already. While I left 8 points on my bench, and am very sad about Rodri's knee injury, I'm buzzing, I can't lie. Stay tuned!

Tumblr league: Jumped up to third! No complaints here, loving to see the green arrows.

Battle of the exes: Stretching that gap! I've picked up a 37 point lead today! He's still got 4 players to add to the pot, so I'll remain cautiously optimistic and keep my gloating to a minimum.

College derby: Guys! My delusions have come true!!! At one point he was absolutely destroying me with a nearly 50 point lead, I've now taken first place! I've got a 21 point lead here.

Online friend: I might have to stop sharing about this league as I've now taken a 121 point lead here. I'd say I'm satisfied, but I might have ground her into dust. All peace and love and warm wishes prayers for the homegirl. May she rest in peace.

Intercontinental derby: A new player has entered the chat! We've been neck and neck most of this season, but I've got a 14 point lead here, eager to see how the rest of the weekend plays out as he still has a player to add to his pot.

Gameweek 2.2- Saturday Recap

Looks like I coulda woulda shoulda bench boosted- though I had no idea Kyle Walker would have shown out and Rodri would have graced the pitch with his presence today.

It's been several hours since City/Spurs meeting today and I can't lie it's ruined my day haha

Point Breakdown/Bonus Points

Erling Haaland picked up 2 points for his 90' contribution.

Captain Declan Rice picked up 12 points against Leeds today through his 90' of playtime, an assist, and maintaining a clean sheet. Feeling like this is the second week in a row I should have captained Calafiori but I know the minute I do he won't see the same success he's been having.

Bukayo Saka seemed to wake up this week, picking up 6 points of his own by scoring a goal. Frustratingly, he only earned one point through 52' of playtime (Arteta lives rent free on my shitlist)

Amadou Onana.... My microscopic transfer, man made a clown out of me. Picking up 2 points from 63' on the pitch he also picked up a yellow card, knocking him down to a single point.

Ruben Dias, my Ruby... Mans earned a single point after 90' on the pitch due to 2 goals conceded (still too soon to talk about it)

Back to Calafiori, this defender picked up a whopping 13 points from 63' on the pitch, 2 assists, a clean sheet and a singular bonus point.

Today's bonus points were awarded to Palhinha, Johnson, Vicario, Tavernier, Diakite, Senesi, Ouattara, Kayode, Collins, Cullen, Anthony, Ekdal, Timber, Gyokeres, and Calafiori.

Overall Standings

The Good Old Dias really picked it up thanks to the Arsenal. With 37 points I'm 6 points above average with four more of my starting XI with fixtures to add to the pot.

League Standings

Battle of the exes: Still in second place here, overall 16 points behind but only 2 for the gameweek. Not happy but delusional enough to believe I'm still in it.

College derby: 8 points behind overall and only 3 for the gameweek, it's still anyone's year.

Online friend: A comfy first place position and a 10 point lead for me, I'll hop off my high horse though- who knows what the rest of this gameweek has in store.

Gameweek 4.0- Preliminary Picks

With the Manchester Derby this upcoming matchday, I'm very excited for this coming weekend and hoping this squad can deliver!

Formation and Strategy:

Going into this coming gameweek, I've switched to a 4-3-3. With my bench having one player who's no longer in the league, a knock, and Kyle Walker.... I've put the best foot I have forward.

I'm really hoping Pep isn't following this blog just to see when he can play/bench Rodri just to spite me. Per usual, in the spirit of Her FPL Update, we're just gonna hit and hope!

Transfers:

This week I thoroughly debated on using my Free Hit, especially with international break giving me plenty of time to mess with my squad. Alas, work kept me busy and the time flew by, so I'm grateful to have just made my transfer early last week to return to today.

This being said, the only change to this squad has been transferring Milenkovic out for Marc Guehi.

This transfer has put 4.8M in my bank, and I've got 5 more transfers planned.

Hopes and Dreams:

I've captained Semenyo once again this week, we'll see where that goes!

Long term I'm hoping to sharpen my bench a bit for bench boost purposes!

Chips:

Still sitting on my chips. Last week I proposed a plan to Free Hit around GW5, which might still be the plan! I'm thinking of pushing my wildcard for a bit later on, I'm hoping to triple captain around gw6 and bench boost when I've reached the hope/dream of getting the bench a bit hotter.

Leagues:

YouTuber's league: If I thought GW2 was bad, GW3 was by far worse. I went from 72,662 to 85,939th place. Yeeesh.

Tumblr league: Crawled my way up to 13/20th place and hoping to keep climbing this week!

Battle of the exes: Second place standing with a 24 point difference, I'm eager to close the gap.

Uni Derby: Another second place standing with a much more significant 43 point difference between me and homie. Still no trash talk from him, luckily, but man oh man I would have.

Bestie Derby: My favorite league (I'm incredibly biased) I'm sitting in first place with a 12 point lead and hoping to widen it. She took a bit of inspiration from my squad while wildcarding, but looking ahead of GW4, she's got 3 players with knocks, 1 player transferred out of the league, and a bench of non-starters, so this week I might have a lead that rivals my negative point differences.

Gameweek 1.4- Monday Recap

A nice little bow to wrap up matchday 1, we've seen 2 of 3 promoted sides win their matches, a City win, and a Yanited loss. All in all, good stuff.

Point Breakdown/Bonus Points

Today's bonus points were awarded to Gudmundsson, Struijk, and Rodon.

Overall Standings

The Good Old Dias is still a somewhat comfortable 5 points above the average score from this matchday (at least that's what I'm seeing in app over 2 hours post match)

League Standings

Battle of the exes: I've managed to find myself 14 points behind the old ball and chain, inspiring my more competitive side early on in the season. He's got a few more years of experience than I do but that doesn't stop my delusional belief that I've got a chance to win this.

College derby: I'm just 5 points behind homie, we'll see how next week treats us.

Online friend: The app still hasn't subbed out her unplayed players, so for now I'm 6 points behind her, but she might get those 6 points on her bench to count towards this week- very sticky situation, but we'll see how it plays out.
