Combining Technology and Education

Technology has helped all kinds of different learners develop an education in a way that suits their learning styles best. Many Students receive a comfortable and positive educational experience due to technology. Combining technology with education appears to have made an improvement in learning for everyone. I notice the improvement most in students with disabilities. First of all, students who cannot write due to a disability, also have many other options of communication. The Dragon Program is an input device for computers, the program plugs in an then all the student has to do is give it a command. The Dragon Program can browse the web, control applications, control the desktop and write documents for students. For example, if a student cannot physically use their hands and fingers, and they need to write a term paper, Dragon Program will allow those students to get it finished and turned in. The student will just have to tell the Dragon Program what to write. Secondly, students who are unable to leave their houses have the option of taking online classes from their computers at home. Online classes allow students to receive an education even when students cannot physically and/or financially transport to school. Technology also benefits students who are hearing and/or vision impaired. For example, Apple has designed their products to suit individuals with disabilities. The Mac, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch each come with excellent listening comprehension features that are designed to assist the hearing impaired and deaf. Students who are hearing impaired can video chat using sign language. Technology has adapted for the vision impaired as well. Apple has voice over screen reader which allows students to hear a spoken description of what is on the screen. The voice over screen reader allows hearing impaired students to receive text messages, emails, and updates. Students and teachers have greatly benefited from technology taking part in education. Technology helps give all different kinds of students the education they need and want. Without the presence of technology in education the ability of many students to learn would suffer.

How Technology Revolutionized Education

From kindergardeners to college students, technology is used to further their education more today, on a regular basis, than it ever has before.  Modern devices like iPads or even just computers (some created solely for education purposes) are used through interactive applications that can teach, for one example, biology without having to actually kill and open up a dead animal.  Computer's are also used as an incredibly efficient way to write papers for school and we've only had this technology alone for a few decades.  Technology on it's own has helped revolutionize the way people learn and made it possible to reach our goals in better and faster ways than was ever imaginable.

Online Schooling for Busy Mothers and Others

Technology has become; unarguably, the most depended on tool for humanity. Whether it is our daily cellphone use or Internet use, technology consumes our everyday lives. Sure the growth of technology has affected and maybe even ruined communication amongst  our loved ones, but what are the pros to the rapid advancement of technology? Early mothers (those who have children before they are financially stable) are given the opportunity to pursue their career goals in the comfort of their own home through online schooling. Mothers are able to study, take exams, and get graded all while tending for their children at home. Online courses also give users the opportunity to go at their own pace -- no pressure. The result of online education is attaining a degree in the career of your choice, being able to provide for your family, and feeling successful and proud of personal achievements. Online schooling, however, is not only available for mothers, but also for those who have decided to go back to school. Many choose to take a break from school but their lives get busy, leaving them without time to physically attend a classroom; online schools give these people an opportunity to pursue their dream career.

Smarter Children

Back in the day, children used educational books like for math and writing to enhance their learning, but those books are now being replaced with technology. Those books can now be used on an iPad or other devices. Along with many other activities like coloring and learning to play music, these activities are being transformed into apps for these devices like the iPad. The question is, does this change on how we learn benefit children? Some children may find it boring and unenthusiastic to write in books in order to learn. Now that many parents own an iPad or some other form of technology, children are curious to play with them and what better way to let them play with it than by having educational games on it. By learning on these devices, children are more willing to learn new things and to improve in their weak subjects. I believe that technology in education is positively changing how children learn by making it more entertaining for them to learn and helping them gain more knowledge.
