I knew that Boomerang was changing, but who would have guessed we could be seeing a European-styled continuity package like this?
Mainframe (not to be confused with the Canadian-based television unit of Rainmaker Animation) is producing the visual packaging of the worldwide rebranding of Boomerang (for those who haven't heard, Boomerang is about to become an ad-supported channel comprised of animation aimed towards families and showcasing classics and modern favorites for the young and the young-at-heart, not unlike the original modis operandi of Cartoon Network in the pre-Adult Swim years).
Here's what Mainframe has to say about the project:
We were delighted to win the pitch to rebrand the Boomerang channel worldwide. We were responsible for the concept, execution and delivery.
As the Boomerang schedule features a combination of old skool cartoons and modern kids shows we wanted the branding to reflect this.
We created 5 connected environments for the Boomerang line and logo to exist in. The line is the most important feature for the channel, it represents the heritage of the channel and has long been used as a connecting element in their branding.
You can see the rest of what Mainframe's preparing to introduce Boomerang right at Mainframe's homepage complete with videos: http://www.mainframe.co.uk/projects/boomerang/
It's all coming back to you in a new way.
