edgism takes effort. blood, sweat, and tears.
it requires creativity, originality, deep thought, bravery, etc.
now u mite look at Britney Spears and say: “but she’s edgy and shes super-popular. how do you explain that?”
Simple: she appears (at a glance) to be milquetoast & banal. a vapid, blonde bimbo stacy.

The point is that you *can* become popular whilst still maintaining your edgelord status but you have to trick normies into thinking that ur banal -- usually by utilizing an unintimidating & appealing aesthetic
