Promise ring verse wedding ring – what is the difference?

In a general sense, wedding rings are made in gold or platinum with classic and timeless design. Promise ring are crafted in silver or more accessible material, and the design tends to be more fun and fashionable. This is because wedding ring symbolize marriage, commitment and a mature stage of life; while promise ring hint a youthful love. Serious and committed, yes, but emphasis on love’s playful and flirtatious nature. Ancient Greek call this stage of love “ludus” or “erotoropia”. Aiming to design for the younger audiences, I want to keep a minimalist design language as well as giving them an adventurous attitude; looking for that perfect balance between uniqueness and something easy to wear.

Matching promise ring for couples in unique design.

Our promise ring collection are all crafted in sterling silver. ANANTAYA appears to be an open circle ring when wears on the finger. The shape is actually an infinity sign twisted in a circular form. The name ANANTAYA means “limitless” in Sinhala (an ancient dialog dated back to 200 BC). A subtle and fashionable way to wear the symbol for infinite love and you’re your commitment. Regardless of the bold appearance, the rings are comfortable to wear with the shank especially made tapered.

CUPID matching ring set features a minimalistic arrow design, symbolize Cupid’s arrow going through lover’s heart. To make this special we incorporated elements of signet ring shape into the design; furthermore tip of the arrow sets a drop shape gemstone of your choice. Arrow couple’s ring is quite common in the market, and yet our non-traditional and refreshing approach brings a unique perspective to this ever-popular motif.

TOKYO is the ring set draws idea from all the Japanese drama series I watch in the later 80’s and early 90’s. The busy streets and especially crossroad are common settings in these shows. Imagine a scene with 80’s city-pop beat as background music, two strangers’ eye meet at a crossroad…… hence my inspiration for this design.

And there is TOKUSHIMA, a spiral ring design after the formation of vortex. Love is sometimes like whirlpool (especially the processive aspect): grabbing onto our lover and pulling them deep into the heart of the ocean. Name after the famous Naruto whirlpool at Tokushima city in Japan.
