hi rae! popping in to wish you a happy zemo-versary (i cannot believe it's been four years) and a happy two-days-early fswl-versary (i refuse to believe it's almost been four years) fswl is still by far my favorite fic i've read in any fandom in my almost 15 year experience and gambit's presence in ch 13 alone has made me into a very devoted x-men fan/comic reader now, so thank you for that. :)

Rach, thank you so much, babe 💖🖤💖 I am so, so incredibly touched that you remembered the day, and especially fswl!! we're still a little early for the fic-versary itself (I posted the first chapter close to my parents' anniversary, which is how I keep track lmao), but I am genuinely hoping to have something by that day as a celebration!!
I actually have a secret target date by which to finish fswl at last, but I don't want to name it bc I have a habit of jinxing myself :'D
I also cannot believe it's been four years!!! what the actual fuck!!!
it's wild how different my life has become when I started from sokovia with love and now. back when I started this, it was still during the lockdown portion of the panini, I was coping with two of my closest friends graduating and moving, and I had no idea how I was going to write my own dissertation or even what I was going to do after I graduate.
now I'm... still working on my dissertation :'D but!! I have a job I really love, independent of my phd, and I have been reminded that despite Everything, y'know, going up in flames - Again - I have friends in my community, and people I care about, and while I might not be in my current town forever, I only want to move this time bc of politics and not bc I personally hate everything about the place. which is a marked improvement from my original hometown!!! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
but most importantly, I have met so many wonderful people through my story and the fic community on tumblr that I'm v grateful to call friends, you included, Rach. 🖤🖤🖤 I know I haven't been as active bc Life, but fswl is still very much a story I love and think about, and I can't wait to share the ending with y'all after all this time. it means the literal world to me that people are still reading, and that you in particular love it so much. every time I sit down to chip away at it, I think of you and everyone who's left a comment, and I want to finish it bc nothing would make me happier than to give you guys a proper ending to enjoy 🥰
and the fact that you also love Remy and the X-men now is just!!!! honestly the greatest compliment in the entire world!!!!!! 🥹✨ I've had a huge crush on him since I was a kid in the '90s and the cartoon was on every saturday, and I've continued to love him since. I'm really excited about the role he plays in the next couple chapters, and I hope the dynamic I set up with him and you-know-who coming up is one people enjoy!!
but also. we all know who we started reading/writing for. and I am very much planning on getting him back on the page ASAP 👀
here's to another year of our favorite baron; long may he reign. 💜👑 mousecorp may fuck around and keep him offscreen, but as long as we have each other, then he's ours and we can do whatever we want 🔥
