picrew here
some makaria, athena, and demeter for ya <3
makaria is a tik tok sensation and everyone loves when she features her âsuper hot dadâ in her videos so here is a list of tik toks hades has been in:
a series entitled âasking my dad to define gen z terminologyâ
one of those videos where you have to pick your hairstyle by drawing paper out of a hat except she did it with painting his nails and he ended up with bright pink chevron nails
âmy dad does my makeup voiceoverâ where hades is rendered speechless at the sight of an eyelash curler
âDay 212 of trying to get my dad to do a tik tok danceâ
âmy dad reads your thirst commentsâ and hades just. slowly sinks lower and lower out of frame, red in the face just âyou all need a cold showerâ
âwatching my dad become more and more distressed at costcoâ and its him just frustrated by people around him
ugh iâm thinking about makaria and i literally love her so hereâs some headcanons:
makaria is a byproduct of years of feeling neglected and wallowing in grief from losing her brother at such a young age. thatâs really informed a lot of who she is and what she enjoys, so iâll just preface all these headcanons by saying that. her youth was robbed from her, and as a result, she continues to chase that feelingÂ
sheâs the goddess of blessed death, and has most of the control and power over what happens in elysium / the islands of the blessed. she takes care of the souls there, and oversees any problems that might arise within them.
makaria has some level of control over light, meaning she can summon bright light to her defence or completely snuff it out
she definitely has issues with addiction, drinking and taking drugs often, and participates in a lot of risky sexual behaviour that has been a point of contention between her and her father for a long time
makaria tends to be called naive and innocent a lot because she carries herself with a healthy level of optimism, but sheâs not necessarily naive. she just hopes for something better as a way of coping with how awful things have been for her, historically. sheâs also quite intelligent, but sheâs bubbly and chatty and it comes across as dumb.
sheâs a fashion icon, and adores dressing up. she finds the dark colours her family wears to be depressing and has repeatedly tried to liven things up, to no avail.
makaria and her mother are very alike, and when asked who her best friend is, she almost always says âmy mommy.â
mak is currently pregnant in my main verse, but sheâs having a little baby boy and sheâs going to name him matthaios, and he is going to be every bit as lively as she is
sheâs easily cerberusâ second favourite (sorry everyone else)
mak is lovely and sweet and so fun but sheâs also severely damaged and needs a lot of reassurance and attention at all times, to the point where its almost debillitatingÂ
Daisy! For annabeth & makaria
đđđđđđđđđ đđđđđđđđđđ: accepting.
daisy : Â did your muse ever feel as though their innocence had been lost ? Â what moment in their life could be described as the end of their innocence ? Â
annabethâs innocence was robbed from her at such a young age, she doesnât even really know what thatâs like. she wasnât given the opportunity to live a childâs life free of worry and strife, constantly assaulted by monsters, spiders, and wicked family members. sheâs only ever really known the struggle for survival, and has been forced to do incredibly difficult things just to make it to where she is now. innocence is a foreign concept to her and not something she can ever truly remember identifying with.
makariaâs optimism often gets mistaken for innocence, even by her own family at times. sheâs certainly not struggled the same way most gods have, and is therefore free of a lot of pain and suffering: but as a daughter of hades and persephone, and a goddess of the underworld, sheâs had her fair share of experiences that have matured her far faster than other young gods and goddesses. she keeps a positive attitude, and prefers pacifism over violence when possible. sheâs not privy to war the way her parents, and her aunts and uncles are.Â
but she knows a great deal about the cruelty and reality of the world, and was introduced to it younger than most by virtue of her parentage. so while i wouldnât say she lost her innocence, she was just never as âinnocentâ as others often think
đïž, đŒ, đȘ and đ» for Makaria and Momus
[ đïž ]ă €.ă €what do their hands feel like: soft, calloused, trembling ?
makaria's are very well taken care of - manicured nails, soft skin, a little on the smaller side but not abnormally so. very nice for hand-holding :)
momus has soft baby hands from all that physical labour he refuses to do
[ đŒ ]ă €.ă €what do they always carry with them ?
in the present day, makaria is the kind of person disgustingly attached to her phone. she's filming everything. she takes pictures of nonsense. she's playing games at dinner. she's an absolute menace that way - but she usually always has some emergency hair care / makeup, too.
momus is ridiculously underprepared for any situation ever. he leaves home with empty hands and a dream (of tormenting the innocent). he might have some lint in his pockets?
[ đȘ ]ă €.ă €when have they looked at their reflection and hated what they saw ?
on a superficial level, no. makaria is hot, she knows it, and she is proud of the way she presents herself. however, there have been times - particularly on long, bad nights, where she's indulged a little too far - that she looks in the mirror and is upset by what she sees internally. she laments what her life has made of her, and how similar her vices are to her father, and being forced to confront those often makes her sick.
momus has never looked at himself and despised who he was as a person. he's very much aware of his own flaws, as he refuses to shame others for theirs when he can't even confront his own in a mirror. that said, he's definitely dealt with a bit of dysphoria. less so when he was in his youth, because gods and gender are complex and it was nothing to shy away from. though i think, as the world changes, he's wondered if he's enough, if he passes, etc., and he's spent more than a little time picking himself apart in the mirror.
[ đ» ]ă €.ă €what kind of drunk are they ?
makaria starts off so exuberant, bubbly, loud. she's friendly, wants to dance, and enjoys being the center of attention. the more she drinks, and particularly if she's engaging with other substances, she becomes less so. it's not unusual for her to end the night in tears.
momus drunk is as close as anyone is going to get to him being sweet. the more he drinks, the less refined his commentaries, and the less interested he is in what others have going on. he can almost have normal conversations. he can almost express affection. unfortunately for everyone, he doesn't drink often.
// What is Makariaâs coffee order? Does she like coffee or tea or other drink?
makaria is 1000% a matcha girl. you could put any beverage down in front of her, and if there's matcha in it, she will gobble that right up. i think she drinks a lot of tea at home, because her whole family seems to enjoy that a lot, but her go to drinks outside of the home are the ones mentioned above. she also isn't going to turn down a good freddo espresso, of course.
i think makaria's perspective on death can be a little alarming. she is an underworld goddess, and is incredibly accustomed to death - but unlike the rest of her family, she doesn't seem particularly ... cthonic. in fact, most people never realize that she is, in fact, a goddess of death until she's actually asked to talk about.
which is when her perspective comes forth. makaria is extremely calm and almost entirely too casual about death. she describes it like someone might talk about any life change. where her father is quick to impress upon people the significance and inevitability, but necessity of death, makaria is very much a "it is what it is" kind of person.
its one part having grown up among the dead, one part her domain being those whose deaths are rewards, and one part having been exposed to such a horrible loss in her youth that contribute to this super lax perspective. makaria likes to act as though growing up in the underworld hasn't made her different than other gods... until she actually talks about death and you realize she's a little off kilter.
