Vadim Tokar, the mayor of Makariv to a Finnish news reporter covering the horrors the Russian horde has left in their wake:

“Don’t worry. Ukrainians won’t let Putin attack Finland. We will come to your defense!”

I want to cry. And wish like hell we would do more to help them.

He also inquired whether Finland is hoping to regain the parts of Karelia we lost in WW2, and while that’s a lovely sentiment, I personally would give those territories to Karelians so they could be a sovereign nation in their own right.

Previously unseen footage of a Russian Mi-8AMTSh helicopter shot down by Ukrainian forces over Makariv, near Kyiv. The Ukrainian military released footage on Monday purporting to show the wreckage of a downed Russian helicopter near the town of Makariv. According to the military, the aircraft was an Mi-8.
