Contouring tips  for dark 

When contouring light skin, you use a darker product to create contrast, but with darker skin, you need a lighter shade for dimension.  But you  won't get much contrast by using an even darker contour product, instead you should strategically highlight.Use a concealer or contour cream that is 1-2 shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Focus on the areas under the eye,  creating an inverted triangle which will  bring brightness to the center of the face. Draw down the center of the nose, as well as the center of the chin and forehead. Blend with a soft dome brush

Contouring is so hard! Wow. I had no idea, lol. How does one do it without ending up with a brown patch on their face? :') I think I might have bought it a shade too dark, so that might be part of the problem, or maybe I'm using the wrong type of brush or my blending skills just suck.. (although highlights looked good)

Anyone got any tips for me on what to use, how to apply properly and blend?

Contouring tips! The term contouring means to accentuate, minimize and contour when applying cosmetics, these are all achieved by using the same simple techniques. Accentuating your best features is one of the uses for contouring. Enhancing the eyes and making the cheekbones stand out and appear dramatic are just two ways in which to accentuate your features. With the right combination of shading and highlighting you can make your features really stand out. There are features that we would rather not appear so prominent. If your face is wide and seems flat or your forehead is too broad, and instead of enhancing these features we want to make them less prominent. Contouring make-up works for this in that you can take the shading and highlighting techniques and refine the shape of the broad features, making them appear smaller. Once you master the techniques of shading and highlighting, you can subtly reshape the face . Whether it’s a flat cheek, or a jaw that’s too square or too round, or just too much, you can alter the look of the shape and create the look that you want.

How to contour your cheeks! Using a kabuki brush, swirl it over your matte bronzer (make sure its not too dark) and then starting along your hairline, begin tracing the number three (on the right side), bringing the brush along the perimeter of your face, back in toward the center of your face directly under your cheekbone, and back out again along the permiter of your face again, swiping it under your jawbone and ending up at your chin. After you repeat a backwards three on the left side of your face, make sure to blend the bronzer a little, so you can't see a literal number three on your face. Please make sure you do blend well otherwise you will look like a weirdo!
