This slow cooker Thanksgiving turkey is incredibly easy to make ahead, allowing you to focus on other dishes while still enjoying a delicious main course. The turkey turns out juicy and flavorful, infused with aromatic herbs and spices.
Ingredients: 1 whole turkey 12-14 pounds. 1 onion, quartered. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 1 cup chicken broth. 1/4 cup olive oil. 2 tablespoons dried parsley. 2 tablespoons dried thyme. 2 tablespoons dried rosemary. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the turkey. Season the turkey generously with salt, pepper, parsley, thyme, and rosemary. Place the quartered onion and minced garlic inside the cavity of the turkey. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the seasoned turkey into the slow cooker, breast side up. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165F 75C. Once done, carefully remove the turkey from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
