"In the beginning, I didn't like kids who had living fathers because mine passed away when I was just a baby. That's what my mother told me. I don't remember my father and growing up fatherless in a society where having a father is important, everything falls on you. You're always reminded that your father's no longer here when you are referred to as an orphan all the time and how great he was. It didn't help me growing up when all I ever wanted was for him to be here so I can tell people, 'Hey that's my aabbo (dad), I do too have a father'. I now realise that it was God's will. It's not my fault that I'm an orphan and I shouldn't be jealous of other people's blessings. An uncle of mine told me that for whatever loss I experience or will experience, God will give me something better."

"Berigii hore, maan jeclaan jirin marka aan arko caruur la socda aabbahood waayo aniga aabbahay wuxuu dhintay anigoo yar waxaana I sheegtay hooyaday. Ma xasuusto aabbahay anigu, laakiin bulshada waa muhiim in aad aabbo haysato, waxkasta waa kugu dhacayaan. Markasta waxaa lagu oranayaa adiga aabbaha ma noola agoon baad tahay laakiinse aabbaha qof wacan ayuu ahaaa, taasi ima caawin maadama waxa ugu wayn aan rabay ahayd in aan haysto aabbo ila jooga si aan dadka ugu iraahdo kani waa aabbahay aniguna waan leeyahay aabbo sidoo kale. Laakiin hada waan rumaystay in ay tahay qadar Alle, khalad aan anigu leeyahay ma aha in aan agoon noqdo, kamana xumadeen dadka kale wanaagooda. Abtigey ayaa mar igu yiri waxkastoo kugu dhaca ama aad la kulanto ilaahay wax ka wacan buu kugu bedelaya."
