The other day I texted my mom to see if it was a good time for a phone chat. My 9-year-old niece, who was playing a game on my mom’s phone, texted back, “Grandmas on the bathroom”. I was inspired by her typos and sent back this quick silly sketch. My mom said it cracked my niece up.

Happy Make Bad Art Day! Everyone go make some bad art. As my artist friend Brenda says, if you can’t draw it, draw it badly anyway!

I told myself I would post some of my attempts at sumi-e for @tumbalendar 's Make Bad Art Day so here they are, crinkly paper and all!

I am under no illusion that these are any good but I'm proud of my experimentations! It's literally just a fun medium to work with and I'm happy to have tried it.

I don’t like social media at all, I had very bad experiences here and on other sites like this, so I will continue to abstain from them in order to maintain my sanity. I had to post this before I started critiquing it too hard. People reach out to me all the time to express their support for my art, and it fills me up with joy. I truly appreciate any kind word I have ever received about my art. Those who know me, know that I am quite hard on myself about pretty much everything. But, mostly when it comes to my artwork. I haven't posted in a LOOOOOOONG time. It takes quite a bit for me to put pencil to paper. Today I decided to draw, even though I might turn out some crap. I know that every crappy drawing I make brings me closer to something I will enjoy sharing. Today it only took one! Holy shit! I really like this drawing. I hope you do too. If you don't, fuck it.
