Moving has been challenging, to say the least. One consequence is that I'm living out of three different places right now, and it just so happens that my art supplies are spending the night somewhere else. . It doesn't really matter that they're not here. My life and work can continue, and I can choose not to miss them. It reminds me that nothing is guaranteed: . You're not always going to have all the tools. . You're not always going to have the time. . You're not always going to get enough sleep. . You're not always going to be physically able. . You're not always going to get the last piece of cake. . When things don't go smoothly, it pries open cracks for people to step in and be kind. It derails you from your plans and makes you pay attention. It pushes you to solve problems in ways that wouldn't have occured to you otherwise. . What a gift, right? . ...
