This weekend some editors at Marvel post a selfie enjoying milkshakes. It was followed by replies too embarrassing and disgusting to repeat. Women involved in comics are harassed because of just that... they're women and love and work in comics. It's sad that this is something we have to address. So, Gert and I stand strong with you kick ass women who help make comics a thing we all love! #makeminemilkshake #dailysketch #ihatefairyland
You'd better #MakeMineMilkshake okay? @HeatherAntos @Marvel 💖💖#marvelcomics #geenpool #americachavez #allnewwolverine #x23 #silk #marvelsilk #msmarvel #hawkeye #hawkeyepride #squirrelgirl #comicart #positivevibes
Marvel/DC get crushed by... The Ancient Magus’ Bride?
Nope, I’m not kidding. Here’s the latest GN sales. The Ancient Magus’ Bride triumphs over everything DC and Marvel released by a long shot, and DC couldn’t even get a GN of new material to even crack the top 20.
Everything DC and especially Marvel have done to woo women, to attract their readership, even virtue signalling at every possible opportunity to show how feminist they are, wasn’t enough.
Every single one of their characters, male or female, every one of their books, got beaten by...
Her.
Wonder Woman. Captain Marvel. She-Hulk. X-23 (aka the new Wolverine). Batgirl.
Hell. Batman. Superman. Spider-Man (both Peter & Miles). And everything Star Wars-related for that matter.
All beaten by a teenage girl named Chise who only has three years to live (max) and is barely starting to understand magic.
In all of their efforts to build the ultimate strong female character, a first-time mangaka crafted a heroine that thru her struggles, pain, and will, is stronger than anyone Marvel or DC has in their comics stable. And she doesn’t even need to say a word about that.
Maybe the Big Two should think about making their female characters just as intriguing, sympathetic, and compelling as Chise.
But that’d be too difficult. So we get milkshake brouhaha and Ask Me About My Feminist Agenda.
Good going, guys. Really.
comiXology raises a milkshake to the women in comics and their wonderful fans! #MakeMineMilkshake

Last week Marvel comics legend Flo Steinberg passed away. In honor of her love for tasty afternoon treats, a small group of us decided to grab a milkshake on a Friday after putting our books to print for the week. The photo was posted to social media with the simple caption "Marvel Milkshake Crew! #FabulousFlo" What followed after I will never understand. I've overwhelmed by so many emotions. The comics industry is a great place to be. I'm proud to be a member, and even prouder to call my fellow colleagues friends. Or better yet -- Family. <3 And remember, #MakeMineMilkshake
