Piggyback 🐖 plant, mother of thousands, pickaback plant... the Tolmiea menziesii is aptly named. The little plantlets 🌱 are the stars 🌟 of the show growing where the leaf stalk and leaf blade meet. (Swipe to see the progression of growth) This northwestern, North American native plant, grows in cool coastal mountain areas and makes a good houseplant. It needs to be kept moist 💧 and thrives in low to medium 🌓 light. It can be used as a ground cover in areas where it is hardy. If you want to propagate your plant, simply cut off a leaf that has a plantlet and pin it to a pot of moist potting medium or leave it attached to mom so she can give it energy while it is forming roots. These plants aren't always easy to find, but worth the search.
