#MakeNoiseForTurquoise Dysautonomia Awareness: Dysautonomia is a medical term often utilized for a group of complex conditions that are caused by a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The ANS regulates all of the unconscious functions of the body, including the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal system, metabolic system, and endocrine system. Under the umbrella of Dysautonomia are POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), OI (Orthostatic Intolerance ), AAG (Autoimmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy) and several others.
Symptoms and comorbid conditions include: blood pooling, tachycardia, fatigue, headaches, nausea and/or vomiting, delayed gastro emptying, digestive issues, cognitive impairment (brain fog), cold/heat intolerance, chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, sleep disorders, dizziness, vertigo, muscle/joint pain, and more.
You wouldn’t be able to tell just by looking at someone so check yourself when you find yourself making judgments, there is often a whole world of things going on that you aren’t aware of.
