Maker’s Instinct
Assignment: The final project for our Sustainable Systems course was to create objects/useful things out of everyday waste materials. We were asked to start collecting materials a week prior to this assignment. For this assignment, we were to use the materials in front of us to create something unique, rather than the other way around. I collected beer bottles, mayonnaise and jam jars, twine, newspaper and wasted lace pieces.
Idea 1: Creating decorative jars and/or holders from used jam jars.
I was really happy with the way these jars turned out. I think I will use the colourful jar to store my art supplies like paint brushes, pencils, colours, etc. I will use the other jar as a showpiece at home.
Total no. of hours required: 1 hour Cost of making: 40/- (colourful ice cream sticks)
