FOUNDATION FOR MATURE SKIN
I was told that if i have a mature skin that has wrinkles then i shouldn’t use foundation as it will highlight the wrinkles? Is this correct? What can i do?
This is a great question. Firstly you definitely can use foundation and in particular use a professional mineral makeup range that has a mineral foundation. Depending on how elastic the skin is will determine which the best product to use is. Ideally use a liquid mineral foundation lightly applied with a foundation brush. Moisturise the skin first and the foundation will be easy to apply. Used lightly will not highlight the wrinkles and will give a soft glow to the skin and most importantly protect it from the sun if it contains an SPF in the product.
If the desired result is more coverage then it may be possible to use a fuller foundation such as a professional studio crème foundation or professional studio crème makeup. It is essential when using this product on a mature skin to always mix the foundation on a palette with some moisturiser appropriate to the skin type. This will make the mineral foundation more pliable and easier to use and apply. It is imperative to assess the skin to decide whether this professional studio crème foundation is suitable.
Ultimately it is definitely ok for a mature skin to use foundation. It is the way that it is used and an assessment of the skin that is required to determine which product is suitable. Play with the products, have fun and see what works for your skin. Remember to always use a mineral foundation that has an SPF protecting the skin from the sun.
