Wish and Won't List
For those that don’t know, this is my version of going through recent or upcoming makeup releases and sharing whether or not I want these items and why. I know many You-tubers do this and those are some of my favorite videos to watch so I decided to do something similar on this blog. There have been some pretty interesting announcements this week so let's start with the one I got a little crap about on Instagram.
Colourpop X Disney's Hocus Pocus - MOSTLY Wish - I put up on my stories yesterday that I actually like the looks of this collection and received a couple DM's and a text from a friend basically asking me if I was okay because they think this collection looks boring and doesn't represent the movie well. At first, when I saw the palette reveal, I was a little disappointed with the eyeshadow palette and like many people, I was expecting more pops of color. Later on when I was scrolling through Instagram, I spotted swatches of a palette and I was immediately obsessed with the color story. It looked like a perfect fall palette then I read the caption and realized it was the Hocus Pocus palette. That made me stop and really look at the collection because I liked it not knowing what it was. Honestly, I think my own expectations of what I thought the collection should look like stopped me from appreciating what it does look like which is a nice fall collection that has a lot of the tones from Hocus Pocus. Am I going to try to pick up everything? No. I don't wear lashes so that's a no. I might try to pick up one of the red lip sets but I don't need all three. I know that was the other thing that really upset people but honestly, I wasn't surprised that they based the lipstick shades on what the sisters are wearing in the movie. Would I have bought a black or purple lipstick if they went in a more fun and daring direction? Yes, but I don't think most people would have which is why they went the safe route (this is a Disney collab after all). The eyeliners were always on the wish list and so were the glitters so basically I'm going to try to get the eyeshadow palette, the eyeliners, the glitters, and maybe one the lip kits.
Makeup Revolution X Nightmare Before Christmas - WON'T LIST - As disappointed as people were with Hocus Pocus, I was 100x more disappointed when I saw this collab. I love Nightmare. It's my shit. As I type this, I'm wearing a nightmare t shirt and headband so when I say I love it, know I mean it. Now, Makeup Revolution is one of my least favorite brands particularly when it comes to eyeshadow. Their formula has always been extremely meh or crap for me with a couple shades being good here and there. Their face and lip products haven't been bad but never really that impressive either so I was already not happy about this collab then I saw the products. There are two 36 shade eyeshadow palettes (one Sally and one Jack), 2 highlighters, 3 lip-glosses, and 2 makeup bags. The two eyeshadow palettes sort of look like a book. The left side of both palettes are basically warm neutrals and orange shades in other words yawn. The other side of the Sally palette has a few pops of color but is still pretty neutral. The other side of the Jack palette definitely has more color but there is a lot of blue shades. Honestly, it just looks like the picked a bunch of shades, slapped some Nightmare related name of it, put a Jack face in some of the eyeshadows and called it a day. The two highlighters look like a peachy champaign and a gold with a Jack face in the powder. There is a clear, nude glitter, and red glitter lip-gloss as well as two makeup bags: one black with Jack faces on it and one white with Jack and Sally on it. Even the makeup bags and the packaging isn't really that appealing to me. Maybe it's because I genuinely dislike Makeup Revolution that I am so disappointed in this collection but I feel like they could have done more with less. Like if the palettes were smaller and had less shades in them they wouldn't have felt as random. Even if I would have seen this swatched out, the color story is too all over the place for me so this is a very big pass for me.
Beautbean X Shroud Cosmetics - FLUFFING WISH LIST!!! - I am so excited about this collab! I discovered Beautbean a few weeks ago and I love her so I'm just so happy she has a collab coming out period but it's with Shroud which makes this even better. Shroud Cosmetics which was formally know as Strobe Cosmetics makes the Creepy Cute palette. Pompberry (an amazing makeup artist and youtuber) uses the Creepy Cute palette all the time and raves about it. A friend of mine who is obsessed with Pompberry bought it and had me do her makeup with it and let me tell you, it's amazing. So let's recap: an artist who I love is coming out with a palette from a brand that I already know is good. Now, let's add to this the color scheme of purples, teals, and chartreuse tones and the fact that it's called the "It's freakin' Bats" palette and I am sold. If you are new here, I love bats. Not just for Halloween purposes but always. They are basically flying puppies in my eyes so this is a whole lot of yes!
Sugarpill 5 new eyeshadows - Won't list (for now) - I love Sugarpill eyeshadows. They are great quality and I like these shades but they aren't anything I don't already own.
NOT MAKEUP RELATED BUT HAIR RELATED :)
Insert Name Here Hair Disney collab? - MAYBE - So it looks like INH is going to be releasing some new Disney wigs for Halloween. They definitely have an Esmerelda wig and an Ariel wig but if they come out with a Snow White one, I will have to get it. (If you don't know why, please look at my blog name again) I do have a wig from INH ( I own Jenny) and the clip in bangs so I have tried their stuff and I do like them. I will keep you guys updated on this as they start announcing things.
That's it for this edition of my wish and won't list, not sure what's next but until my next post.
Later weirdos,
Snow
