Pursuit of Jade spoilers ahead

There was a king, the current king's father. He had a relative and their spouse , Prince and Princess of Chengde. They had a son, Qi Min, eldest grandson of the royal family.

Then there's another royal relative, Prince Changxin, Sui guy and his two sons.

General Xie and Prince Chengde die in Jinzhou massacre (two enemy countries fighting) (may have been planned by Chnagxin and PM Wei)

Princess Changxin goes to Eastern Palace with her son, Eldest Sui. Fire, probably a last resort plan by Princess Chengde to save her son. Princess Changxin and Eldest Sui die. Princess Chengde sacrifices herself. Nanny Lan, son Zhao Xun and Qi Min run away. Qi Min takes the Eldest son's identity (idk how Nanny Lan and son get to leave with him though).

General Xie's wife kills herself and Xie Zheng goes to live with his maternal uncle, PM Wei.

Changyu's father once worked for Wei in some martial artist capacity and runs away with wife, changes identity. (Or was sent away by Wei hence he knew where to find the Fans?)

Old king abdicates. A new useless puppet king comes to the throne, following PM Wei.

Years later, Qi Min instigates Xie Zheng to look into the massacre. PM Wei fears being caught. Results in-

-Father Fan sending letter to General He

- Fan parents being killed

- Xie Zheng being almost killed

All this while, Prince Changxin has been against the current king and wants to kill him and take the throne. And Qi Min has brought all this along to kill Prince Changxin and take the throne.

And Bao'er is Prince Chengde, Imperial Great Grandson.
