@loveceit for today’s prompt lets revisit my childhood. also sort of referenced cannibalism, because Remus and child Roman mishearing something
/\/\/\/\
Looking after twins was never easy, especially with as energetic as Dee’s boys could be, but at least it occasionally made Christmas gifts for the family easier to sort out.
“Logan said that we can’t eat raw egg because it might have Sam and Ella in it and we can’t eat people.” Roman was insisting as he waited for Dee to pass the bowl over to him.
Remus had already been given his bowl of egg whites and peppermint flavouring and was generally getting the icing sugar intended to be mixed with them everywhere except the bowl. “Isn’t that all the more reason to do so? I wanna know how people taste!”
“That’s why I’ve got safety approved eggs, no Sam’s or Ella’s included.” Dee chuckled, putting the last separated yoke into the small bowl to be made into scrambled eggs for tea before measuring out the peppermint flavouring for Roman’s bowl. “Besides most of these have to go to your Uncle and Aunts next weekend so you will definitely be safe from that.”
“I thought we were making snowmen and frozen poo?” Remus piped up again, now covered in the goo peppermint creams became when first mixing the icing sugar in and looking up from the bowl. “Can you put more icing sugar in, Dad?”
Dee did as asked, happily noticing that Roman was starting off using a spoon to mix the icing sugar in instead of copying his brother. “Whatever shapes you want to make once the dough is finished is what we’ll give them. I’m sure Aunty Paula will love to have a box of frozen poo if you made it.”
“I can’t stir it anymore, Dad. Have I done something wrong?” Dee looked into Roman’s bowl to see the mixture just needed a little more icing before it would be the perfect consistency to make models from.
“No, you’re doing perfectly. I think you can get your hands in there to finish mixing in this last lot of sugar.” Dee instructed, moving to try and dust the area around Remus off a little now he could see both peppermint cream batches reaching the right consistency.
While their relatives might not like the shapes the peppermint creams would end up being, they’d all fawn over how clever the boys were for their homemade sweets and it was far cheaper than Dee getting stupid toiletry sets to appease them too.
