ven·i·punc·ture
- the puncture of a vein as part of a medical procedure, typically to withdraw a blood sample or for an intravenous injection.
Today is February 15, 2019. Earlier this morning we've performed venipuncture. Though it was exciting I felt a bit nervous. I thought the process was going to be hard but amazingly it isn't. Securing and managing the tools properly is important for your safety as well as your patient's safety. I really had fun and I was proud for I didn't faint when I saw my blood flowing through the syringe.
Aside from these, we are also taught how to determine our blood type. In blood typing we needed a blood sample and we used my co-immersionist's (Ram Villanueva)blood sample.
I didn't expect things like these to happen this year. It is a good thing that we were exposed earlier to these practices.
