Twelve Days Christmas: Our characters doing their holiday shopping together

It had been a shock, initially, when the firebender had asked Lena if she would accompany him on an errand. Sure, the fighter considered the two of them good friends by now, but she'd never been out on 'errands' before. Especially not holiday shopping errands. In fact, now that she thought of it, she'd not ever actually bought a christmas gift before. And she'd certainly never received one.

But, she agreed to accompany him, almost feeling eager as they entered the shop.

Mako had been very specific about this particular place, claiming it was the best place in the city to buy gifts.

As the two entered the dusty little shop, Lena's icy blues widened with surprise as she took in her surroundings. It was a jewelry shop. Not just any old jewelry show either, but a bona fide, genuine Water Tribe jewelry shop. The walls were decked out with polar tiger furs and tiger seal pelts and the whole shop had that distinctive tribal smell.

"Pick out anything you want." Mako said, giving Lena a pat on the shoulder. The fighter's eyes widened with surprise as she turned to him.

"Wh-what?" He had to be joking. There was no way he could be serious.

"Go on. It's about time you had a nice christmas gift. Pick out anything. It's on me. Your gift from me."

The girl couldn't help but stare, dumbfounded at her new friend for several moments. No one, once had ever offered her something like this. Before she knew what she was doing, her arms were flung around his broad shoulders and she couldn't contain her laughter.

"Thank you, Mako." Lena exclaimed.

The firebender chuckled quietly, returning the girl's enthusiastic hug openly.

"Merry Christmas, Lena."
