Being dumped into a city and told ‘you’re a lab rat, go have fun’, is disconcerting to say the least but Subaru is determined not to let it get him down. It can’t be that bad, he’s been given a room in a flat and he does have roommates but he hasn’t met any of them. As far as he can tell he’s in a busy shopping district and it all seems pretty normal so he’s decided that today he’s going to explore.

He knows there are other people from other places in the city too, but he isn’t actually expecting them to have taken anybody else he knows. However, when it comes to Makoto Yuki, he could spot him from a mile off and that definitely, absolutely has to be him, Subaru is sure of it.

He hesitates for maybe thirty seconds maximum, deciding if it’s a good idea, maybe he’s seeing things, but then the less rational part of his brain kicks in and he winds his way through the crowd as fast as he can and launches himself straight at the blonde, “Ukki!!”

Karasuno isn’t known for their water sports as most of the sports investments go into the gyms and their up keeping. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t seen a swimmer before; much like basketball, volleyball, and baseball players, swimmers have a specific body type that ensures success in the sport.

Laying Down the Law || makotocracy

Amid the grit of the crime-stricken Sector oo3, a young woman strides into a building near the area's center. The interior lacks grandeur, yes, but the uniformed figures add some semblance of order. At the very least, Franziska finds comfort in the presence of at least a bit of structure in this chaotic city, though her opinions of the police have been strongly shaped by an array of incompetent individuals in her own world. It would certainly be preferable if this place had a prosecutor's office, as she could surely find trustworthy and intelligent allies there. Still, as it is, the police department seems a natural place to go for information.

She glances about the building before noticing a young woman who, at the very least, appears potentially knowledgeable. The heels of her boots click authoritatively against hard tile, and even without her whip raised and ready, the petite prosecutor manages to stand formidable before the stranger. Franziska stretches a gloved hand towards the woman and begins her questioning.

"You are an officer here, I presume? What information can you tell me about the law enforcement in this city? More precisely, how are you able to enforce a law which does not exist?"

Intermission [Closed w/Makoto]

Today was seemingly just another day at the Hive City Police Headquarters. Jayden had been working in his office since the early morning, filing out paperwork, writing up reports, and looking over old case files. It was incredibly mundane compared to what he usually had to put up with, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It was nice to have a break every now and then from the incredibly difficult and lethal puzzle that was Hive City.

Jayden had found an unoccupied seat near the back of the break room, and sat down, placing his coffee cup on the table in front of him. He let out a sigh as he folded his hands together and kept them underneath the table, trying to avoid letting people see the bruised fingers and bandaged cuts that were decorated all over. His eyes were almost totally bloodshot, and had very dark circles underneath them. Such were the consequences of being constantly being sent out on field work, and continuing to investigate the city on his own when he was off the clock, All in all, he looked pretty beat up, but he would rather die then let illness or weariness slow him down-especially considering what the stakes were. 

Still, he couldn't deny how tired he was. Trying to get by with the minimum amount of sleep was not doing him any favors as far as staying healthy. Thank god for the magic invention called coffee, though he knew that would only get him so far before he eventually succumbed.

Damn this city. Damn it to hell. How long would it be until he got a breakthrough on escaping...?

The Culture Sector was his favorite Sector, being a hodgepodge mixing of every world's customs that the scientists knew of. There was definitely some Japanese stuff around--quite a bit of it actually--but the vast majority of it were things that he didn't recognize even in the slightest.

Which of course, meant he had to investigate. Turning over a series of memorabilia items outside of a stall, Hibiki glanced up, eyes full of surprise, as he recognized someone at the booth across the street. She didn't seem to have noticed him yet, being so thoroughly preoccupied with something else--or so it seemed at least--and thus Hibiki hoped to catch her off-guard with his greeting. It was just something he enjoyed doing, startling his friends a bit.

Like a literal rabbit, sort of just cropping up out of a hole, Hibiki popped up behind her and gave a cheerful wave, accompanied by a small smile.

"Pretty unbelievable, isn't it? And here I was, thinking we'd already seen the weirdest things the universe had to offer." Was he talking about the situation or whatever the stall was selling? Or something else entirely? His tone was fixedly casual.
