Not much is known is about the Department of Obscurities. No, actually, nothing is known about the Department of Obscurities. Not to the general witch and wizard, at least. Down a flight of stairs next to the main staircase in the MACUSA is a large black door, locked to anyone but the Unspeakables. They pass by, with stoic faces and black robes, never uttering a word of what goes on behind those doors. Not much is known about the witches and wizards either, more than their name. Some stories surfaced in April when two Unspeakables were found wandering Cadman Plaza muttering in gobbledegook and carrying an unconscious clabbert between them. Umbra Grimaldi (Head of the Department of Obscurities) said in her official statement that “Maksimov and Lloyd has been sent to the O’Hara Hospital, and are currently resting up, and the clabbert has been relocated to a new family in Florida.” No further statements has been released.
