So I was too lazy to do anything for Mermay, so I just reworked an old AU pic that I did a few years ago.

Summary of the AU nobody asked for under cut :D

This whole thing stemmed from Altair’s “hydrophobia” (we know it’s not a “thing”. Shush.) And I was like. What if he has this “phobia” because if he spends too much time submerged in water he changes into a merman. Yeah, it’s dumb. Do I care? Nah.

Takes place when they are still novices. During a mission Altair gets himself trapped in a river/canal and his secret is out when Malik finds him. Yada yada, things happen. At some point Altair convinces(tricks) Malik to join him in,idk, Acre and with the help of ✨magic✨ they’re both merman. After learning to merman, which is what’s happening here, they go explore the sea and visit Alty’s mum who’s like a mermaid-witch or whatever.

That’s it. I outlined this story like 6-7 years ago. Things got lost. Will I ever come back and actually write it? I don’t know. But at least I got something out of my brain for it :p.
