Honestly one of the saddest parts of the entire scene was was Alec saying “I need a break.” and Magnus automatically assuming he meant a vacation. Together. It never even crossed his mind Alec meant a break from them- that’s how sure of their relationship he was.
“Where do you wanna go? Hawaii? Jamaica?”

Jace: Yeah, you could be devoured by some kind of demonic creature!
Alec gives Magnus a wide toothy grin: Oh, I plan on being the one devouring!
Magnus gives him wide eyes mouths: Oh, really Shadowhunter?
Alec leans over and kisses Magnus: Really!
Jace: Um, Alec?
Alec drops his phone on the bed as he kisses Magnus: ...
Jace: Alec, are you hurt? I hear moaning. Alec!
Magnus: OH, FUCK ME ALEXANDER!

whenever i watch 'The Beast Within' and hear Alec "breaking up is gonna hurt like hell, but it's the kind of hurt Magnus Bane can recover from" Lightwood, i immediately remember Magnus "he found himself afraid when he thought of Alexander Lightwood breaking his heart" Bane and i just cry because these two deserves each other and loves each other so much and can't live without each other and they just need to talk.
like guys, don't hurt yourselves or us any longer and just marry each other
