Last Minute Cosplay Musings
In a surprising turn of events I will be using more makeup for Malekith (who’s a guy) than for Leah (who’s a girl)
To be fair though, what I’m doing for Leah is what I’d normally do if I were going out: eyeliner, concealer, mascara, and lipstick. Malekith on the other hand: concealer, eyeliner, mascara, pale foundation, contouring, two different types of eyeshadow, and lipstick. For me at least, that’s a ton of makeup, and that’s a modified version. If I had an actual outfit, I’d go all out with facepaint.
Speaking of Malekith, Walt Simonson going to be at the con and I’m debating whether or not to meet him in Malekith cosplay to get one of my 80s Thor volumes signed. One hand, it’d be so cool (for those of you who don’t know Malekith first appeared during his run). But on the other hand, I took some liberties with the outfit (Simple shorts and t shirt type outfit. Also added a flower crown and sunglasses) and while there are some creators who like seeing how their characters are interpreted through cosplay, there are others who aren’t as open to the idea.
