It was done, sealed, and soon to be put into action. Ada was to be married and under her father's wishes. The arrangement had been done long before she was aware, but it hovered over the possibility that she'd get say in who she'd marry until this moment. There was no longer a say, no longer an opportunity to accidentally fall in love.
Those girlish moments with her peers was now useless because time was more than just an object. Time was fate, destiny, unceasing. No matter how much Ada believed that if she was given more time, she'd meet the man who would be just as good to her as she was to him. This granted time would never come and her father's word remained firm.
In a couple of months she'd be married to a Nightray. No, not her brother's valet, for Gilbert was going to remain as one thing to the household according to Xai and that was Oz's valet, but Gilbert's brother. Vincent Nightray: the mysterious, unforgiving, yet positive eye candy to any noble girl within the four dukedoms. That inkling of information made her insides harden with the sort of fear one would receive when having failed the family.
"I-.. am guessing you're aware of the news?" Ada brought up during afternoon tea with the opposing blond. She smiled sheepishly at him, still finding his company to be of the foreign variety. "Oz isn't entirely thrilled, but it wasn't his decision after all. It's a common thing -- to marry others in the same level of hierarchy."
