SUPER rough sketches / a sort of loose storyboard I’ve had in my head for ages and ages, it’s still not quite how I imagine it, but I wanted to scribble something out just to put out the rough idea. 

I’ve been so inspired by @zauberer-lichtgestalt ‘s ideas and stories, I hope it’s okay that a lot of it has made its way in, particularly Mother Nature’s relationship with Maliss, I would actually like to see a happy ending for them, and reformation for Maliss would be cool! I ended up nixing the whole stone thing completely, but may return to it in future iterations of the battle. It just seemed a bit out of left field in the movie, I know nothing HAS to be explained, but I do find it nice when there’s at least a theme or something to give the magic a little bit of a system. It doesn’t always need that, sometimes magic is just magic, but... why did he need the cloak? He’s powerful, he can just cast spells. I dunno! I’m thinking about it too much. 

Here, he utilizes the fragmented mirror to trap the dwarves and they also act as a conduit to amplify his powers or refract magic. I like the magic mirror and I think having it play a bigger part would be kinda neat!

There’s more that picks up directly after the last panel, but it’s not done quite yet! I’ve kept it pretty similar to the film, because I really adore that sequence- it always makes me tear up. So sweet! I love Snow and the Prince’s relationship, for as little as we see of it. They seem to really love each other and there’s a lot of respect, I think it would be awesome to see them balance each other out, hopefully I can make more of a continuation that follows them after the events of the movie-- Maliss getting a redemption arc, perhaps new foes and challenges arising, Aespir having to master balancing his shadow and human forms, Snow learning more magic from the dwarves, and of course the dwarves’ personal stories and growth. Idk, it’s a fun space to play in and I want to keep doing so!

 I will try to keep working on it whenever possible! I’m actually possibly about to move, and picked up a commission, aaaand am working on vendoring at a couple of events coming up, plus my job is eating my soul, so goings are slow. But! This all lives rent-free in my head 24/7 so I will be making more, for anyone who might want to see it! ^___^ 

(( Mother Nature is absolutely 100% still voiced by Phyllis Diller, lines must be read internally in her voice- the voice cast for the original movie was SO good and I wouldn’t change a thing ))
