FAQs
Why are you running the tournaments this way?
I just kinda felt like it? I thought it would be a little more manageable if I did it by levels and then by type. Maybe we'll do other combinations in the future. Anything is possible.
2. Where is [insert card here]?
It might have been seeded into another round, it might have been too new for me to have seen in the databases I check, I might have just missed it cause there's so many cards, it's possible they fell through the crack.
3. How are the tournaments seeded?
Mostly through a random number generator, but I did manually seed some certain match ups to pair up archetypes together, so that one archetype doesn't overwhelm the whole tournament.
4. Where are the Rush monsters?
I was struggling to find a database that had good accurate lists of Rush Monsters :( And my brackets were already getting super unwieldy. So we'll likely do a special Rush monster bracket later! Sorry to Rush I love you very much I promise :(
5. Why are you even doing all this work?
is fun
6. How are ties handled?
I hope we have as few as possible, but if a poll ends in a tie, I eliminate my own vote and the other entry gets to move on, so that I weight the votes of y'all a bit heavier.
7. Why are Links and XYZs included in the Level tournaments? They don't have levels.
You're right and yes I know. I do play the game so I know they're different.
I did it this way because it was more streamlined; otherwise I was going to have a lot of single or small handful of cards that would require me to make a lot more smaller tournaments or just have a bunch of random single cards that I'd have to work into an eventual super tournament. For my own sanity, it was easier for me to fold anything with the same number into the same tournaments, regardless of what exactly that number signified.
At this point I don't want to change the way I'm doing it this far into the project, and it would take too much work to go back and redo all of the tournaments so far, so this is the way it's staying.
