run ins (@saturn)
She was never on the run, exactly. Dawn had heard whispers of what was going on in the other regions where the faces of kids her own age were plastered on wanted posters. Sinnoh was in bad shape, but it hadn't gotten that far yet. Then again, there had yet to be anyone trying to really stand up to Team Galactic since she and Lucas accidentally returned Cyrus to his post.
Dawn had taken to bouncing from city to city since Cyrus' return, knowing that Galactic had been keeping their eye on her. She didn't want to put her mother in harm's way and figured it would be harder to track both her and Lucas if they weren't together.
Empoleon waddling beside her, Dawn pursed her lips. It was strange how normal everything could feel sometimes. It wasn't as if Galactic had set up grunts to line the routes and hide in the trees, and if Dawn let herself space out, it could almost feel like she was young and heading to Veilstone for the first time again.
The sound of Empoleon startled her out of her daydream, snapping her attention to the blurry figure ahead. They were far away, but she could recognize the owner of that weird blue hair cut any day. Saturn.
Empoloen nudged her, suggesting they hide in the bushes until he passed, but she was too stubborn for that. Besides, she'd never been intimidated by Team Galactic, and she wasn't about to start now.
