The Juiciest Phat
(May 2023 - November 2023)
today
It may have been a bad decision to make my mall dress run at the exact time I'm hungriest and thirstiest... I haven't even arrived and I'm contemplating the glories of cold beverages and tasty food.
LOVELY DAY! : Mall Run + Cheesecake Factory+ Random Stories
Last night, I slept upstairs bc my phone was acting weird. It kept on going to camera mode, even when I was changing after showering. I swear it took a random pic of the ceiling when I was putting on my shirt...It wasn't working properly and I don't have any other alarm clock, so I went upstairs.
Anyway, I woke up at 11 this morning to get ready to head for the mall with Alex and Daisy. We left for Pura Vida for drinks then the SAC for bagels. We walked towards the bus stop and saw the bus leave; Apparently it came early--BY TWO MINUTES! We stayed at the busstop (in the freezing cold) until 2pm for the next bus, since Lindy's Taxi was being rude. Wilfred, Ashil(?), and Jeff came as well to accompany us. We sung, ate Wendy's, 'cuddled', watched videos, and fangirled about our recent concert experiences (how mature, I know) while waiting for the bus.
The time went by really quickly and when we saw the next bus arriving, we got all excited and lined up by the stop. It slowly approached the stop, stopped by the red light, and...LEFT. The bus that we waited 2 hours for was overpacked. We were about to call a taxi, but realized other buses were running by the Union, so we walked there. Daisy and I went to the SAC hoping there was oatmeal, but it was already lunchtime. We bumped into Lewis and walked over to the Union. Luckily, we were the last 4 that made it onto the Brentwood bus (Wil and Ashill rode their bikes).
The mall was fun. We all got cute matching sweaters from Macy's. I also got a warm knit sweater from Aero and a cute dress from American Rag. I lovee the detailing and criss cross back. I know it's not right for the season/weather, but like Alex said, it's nice to have!
We ate at the Cheesecake Factory for Lunch/Dinner. It was my first time there and I loved it! The atmosphere was similar to that of Carmine's in the city.
There was a bar and family-friendly dining area, the customer service was great, and most importantly, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING.
Appetizers- Tastes great, but portions are small.
Fried Macaroni and Cheese (looks like Takoyaki from Vivi's) (CRISPY, CHEESY/GOOEY, AND DELICIOUS)
Firecracker Salmon (looks like mini-lobsters! The taste was VERY oriental. It has a nice crisp and the purple cabbage that came with it went well with the sauce.)
Main Dish: Was exactly what I was looking forward to & more.
I GOT A CUBAN SANDWICH! I'VE BEEN WANTING TO TRY IT SINCE THE BEGINNING OF LAST YEAR!! I was literally searching through the boroughs for the best cuban sandwich for a month last year, but quickly gave up. It was filling and tastes tangy with its pickles and creamy/cheesy/rotten (tasteful rotten) with its swiss cheese. Nevertheless, it was satisfying; the bread was warm and had a nice crisp to it (similar to the crispiness of the bread of a warmly toasted Vietnamese Banh Mi). It brought me back to the old days when I stayed at Celebritea for Banh Mis...
Dessert-Was exactly what I was looking forward to & more....CALORIES. :(
THE CHEESECAKES WERE TO DIE FOR. They all looked so delicious, but we chose to get the Original Cheesecake with a Graham Cracker Crust and the Red Velvet Cheesecake. I was smiling after each bite. It was SO good and well-cooled, but I FEEL SO GUILTY ABOUT EATING IT BC EACH SLICE WAS ABOUT 1000 CALS! I didn't like the sour cream topping on the Original Cheesecake. Sour cream only works with chips for me. Other than that, the cake was pleasantly tasteful and was at the right temperature.

Alex was telling us how her teacher said there are 3 Main Guys a Girl Will Meet;
Guy 1 will be the 'puppy love' love & will introduce u to what love may be. Although this love wasn't as long as you thought it would last, it still meant something. He was your first boyfriend, your first hand holding, your first kiss, etc. He matters because he once mattered.
Guy 2 will be your college guy. Who knows how long that'll last but he's someone you'll spend ur college years with, along with your friends.
And finally Guy 3 will be 'The One', the one you'll marry and spend the rest of your life with.
Note: Guy 1, 2, 3 doesn't necessarily mean the number of guys... They largely represent the stages/phases.
I can't say much about Guy 2 and 3 because I'm still getting to know my "Guy 2"-College Phase. It's very general, I know, but I found it interesting and relevant to what I was watching the other night. It was a reality TV show starring R&B artist Toni Braxton. Her mother was explaining to her girls how women at different ages marry for different reasons:
Younger- Possibly someone to get by with and play around with. (Lust?)
age 50 - someone to spend the rest of your days with, because you don't want to grow old alone.
I see where she's coming from, but once again, it's very general and may or may not apply to all women.

Anyway, back to today!
We did a little more circling around the mall after eating before we took the cab back through Lindy's service.
I told the operator off because she was being so rude. I called to ask about times and pricing but she had trouble trying to figure out our location. I said 'around Macy's' since it was closest to the mall, hoping for her to describe the SPECIFIC area. I thought I was specific enough.
She became impatient and that was when I told her to calm down and there was no reason for her to be so rude. Of course I don't know how to get around the area! That's why I called... Eventually, we came on a consensus on when and where the cab was to pick us up.
I understand that she may have had a frustrating day due to the overwhelming calls bc of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy (long gas lines and delayed/closed transit lines), but that gives her no right to forget about customer service and manners.
Customer service is key to running a business right--despite bad times. I thought that was the last time I would call that service but thankfully, our driver was nice. Because gas lines are super long, he had to pick up another customer that was going our direction along the way.
By the time I reached home, I was so relieved. It was a long day, but I had fun. :)
