Alastor and Mallory headcannons
——————————————————————————————————
A little tidbit, much of their lore takes place in @bananadramaaa’s world. It’s all a variation of their AU.
——————————————————————————————————
-Alastor has kissed Mallory before while she was sleeping (he’s weird) because he’s scared if what Mallory would think. It was also to prepare him for their first kiss (that she knew about lol). Now, Alastor will just do it on habit when he sees her sleeping, giving her a peck on the lips. Little does he know, Mallory’s actually never asleep for those (she was asleep before their first kiss). She’ll never tell him though.
-Mallory took Alastor and his sisters out on outings when they requested to be away from their father. Mallory was seventeen, Alastor was twelve, Adelice was fourteen, Leonore was nine, and I forgot how old Bertilda was. Mallory was very close to Adelice, and Mallory had proven to Alastor’s mother that she was responsible and would keep her children safe. Most of the time, she took them to the park, where she gossiped with Adelice on the swings. She’d let Alastor join in on their sessions if he bugged her enough. This one park they went to was a weekly ritual for them when everyone finished their duties. Now Alastor and Mallory go to that park sometimes for nostalgia and stargazing, where Mallory will rant on and on about astrophysics and the universe, and Alastor will listen. He doesn’t know what any of what she’s saying means, but he listens because it makes her happy.
-I think Alastor reads emotions through eyes. Like ‘the eyes are the windows to the soul’ type shit. And this connects to Mallory because Alastor has cheerful doe eyes, and Mallory has dead siren eyes. And Alastor knows why they’re dead. It’s the kind of eyes you have to earn per se. That’s why he gets happy whenever he sees her smile. Number one, because smiles are his thing, and number two, because her eyes get just a little bit brighter
-This was established before I realized the similarities between Jinx and Mallory, but Mallory has bipolar disorder, which often leads to her aggression and violent tendencies, and she has breakdowns once in a while. Alastor has to get her back into reality before she hurts anyone or herself, he almost got a bottle to the head because of how bad one of attacks was. When Alastor has his own bad days, Mallory gets him out of his head to return the favor. I think it almost reminds Alastor of his father, except Mallory is much more dear to him than that, and he knows she genuinely cares about him and loves him (his father cared about him by ykyk). Mallory always apologizes to him for her outbursts, and she’s always tried to control herself when in these outbursts, so she doesn’t say anything to hurt him. It always ends up with her crying in his arms but… He helps her because of all the times she’s helped him.
-I just found the perfect word to describe their aroace relationship: An emotional affair
-When the cops arrived at Mallory’s house, announcing Alastor’s death, Mallory had the worst bipolar meltdown of her life. She chopped her hair off to her shoulders, since Alastor loved her long hair, and she killed the man who murdered her friend
-Mallory is literally the songs Lotta True Crime and Rät by Penelope Scott. She has definitely said ‘You know {person} and {person} actually sit together in hell, shaking, quaking, terrified that one day, somehow some way…! They might. Meet. Me.” Also, Rät would be about her s_xually abusive father. Mallory is the definition of ‘villains aren’t born, they’re made’. I physically feel bad for Mallory sometimes because her father was… Like ‘in love’ with her, but I get happy when I realized he died when she was eight. But, I think her themes would be either La Leçon particulére or La petite fille de la mer
-I think Alastor will sometimes kiss Mallory by kissing his hand and then placing his hand on her. The two have also slept with each other (not like that), just cuddled up together pretty often. Alastor also likes putting his head on her chest whenever he can. I think Alastor definitely finds Mallory beautiful and secretly likes her curves. It just makes him happy ig.
-Mallory scares off women who bother Alastor
-Mallory also can’t drive (by choice), and she refused to be featured on Alastor’s show. Alastor thought it was a great idea because she was one of the first woman in America to earn a PhD in astronomy and physics. Actually, the first woman to earn two PhDs in America, third woman to earn a PhD at all
-While Mallory works on her theories or her work, Alastor will just be either asleep while snuggled up against her, or nagging and bothering her like the bastard he is.
-Mallory also gives like… Cruella vibes. Slowly going mad, being an anti-hero, being a ‘villain’ manipulating people, or just like Madame Morrible from Wicked. Idk I feel like she gets along with Alastor for those reasons. But she definitely has the wit and cynical charm of Dorothy Shaw from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953).
-I can totally see Mallory just slamming some mfs head against the wall with Alastor just smoking in the corner. He’s just watching like it’s a good sitcom
-Alastor and Mallory are a lot like Mary Poppins and Bert, since both respect each other immensely and I cannot tell if they are dating or not but now I know they’re just really good friends. Vivziepop stayed herself that Alastor and Rosie were like Mary Poppins and Jack, so it’s different (I actually thought about this for a while lol). Also, Mallory knows about Alastor’s murders, and he knows about her aggressive tendencies to literally kill or beat up people. Because Alastor knows about this, he doesn’t meddle or ‘help’ her like he does with Mimzy, since Mallory can easily take care of it herself. Also, they both have shitty dads, and they actually first bonded when they met by talking to each other about their dads. Alastor was nine, and Mallory was fifteen. I love aroace soulmates the trope is so cute to me
-Mallory also took a hobby in sculpting and with Marble, and Alastor was a frequent muse of hers. She sculpted Alastor from memory quite often after his death to cope with her immense grief.
-Mallory, while going to university at Princeton, learned through one of Alastor’s letters, back when they were pen pals, that Adelice, Alastor’s older sister and Mallory’s closest childhood friend passed. Fortunately, she managed to go to the funeral. At the funeral, her and Alastor reunited, and their meeting was like ‘wow you got attractive’. They’ve been close ever since (at first to cope with Adelice’s death, but it blossomed within months). And during that time, Mallory taught Alastor Romani footwork and dancing. I also hc that when Mallory was away on vacations for her astrophysics, she and Alastor wrote ‘love letters’ of sorts (the most it could get, I mean they were both aroace, in denial, and this was ALASTOR) to pass the time and impatience.
-They’ve kissed maybe once. I feel like it would be the only time they kissed bc they’re both aroace and want to stay ‘friends’ (platonic friends with benefits) and I feel like it happened in Alastor’s room, sitting on his bed. I don’t imagine it being awkward or weird to either of them, just new. And surprisingly, I feel like Alastor initiated it.
-Mallory and Alastor have many ship names. Moonshine, Mallastor, Radiospace, Bloodmoon, Predator, NightandDay

—————————————————————————————————————————
Mallory was born Mallory Claudine Meryl on April 17th, 1887 to a middle class family of nine children (not including her) on a small farm in Naarden, the Netherlands. And all her life, she’d have a view of the sky. The sky was bright and beautiful due to the lack of light pollution, and it filled her with wonder. She was the fourth child of all her siblings, and was closest to her twin sister, Mercy. Their father, Edward, was emotionally abusive, and sexually abusive to Mallory. Their mother, Dolores, though strict, was kind and supportive. Edward was Romany, and Mallory’s family was most invested in that culture, while Dolores was Dutch.
Soon after, their father died from heart trouble, leaving their mother to raise her nine children alone as a widow. Their mother then immigrated to New Orleans when Mallory was 12 with only four of her children, Mallory, Mercy, Imogen (her older sister), along with their younger sister, Hester. Mercy passed away on the ship there, leaving Mallory, Hester, Imogen, and Dolores together. Hester was nine. (Don’t worry, the rest of her siblings were in the Netherlands with Dolores’ family). On the ship to get to New Orleans, Mallory charted the stars, and wrote a paper on the changes at just twelve years old, creating a theory that the constellations change based on location.
The trip took a month, but they made it. To make money for the family, Mallory took many jobs, while Dolores went through a downward spiral of Alzheimer’s. During this time, Mallory and Hester became acquainted with the Hartfelt family (Alastor’s family) through work. Mallory became especially close to Adelice, and met Alastor along the way. Mallory worked on the same gator farm as Alastor, and quickly grew a reputation for beating the living shit out of anyone who pissed her off. Turns out, she could hurt people bad if they insulted her. It was mostly for racism (she was still a ‘Gypsy’) and sexism, and she would beat up anyone. Though, she sometimes beat up people to protect Alastor and his siblings.
Dolores passed away when Mallory was 17. And during the years following, Mallory obtained a house and raised Hester until she was grown. Mallory lost touch with Adelice, but kept in touch with Alastor, and they wrote letters to each other all through Mallory’s time in university. Mallory received two PhDs. One in physics, and the other in astronomy. She had become an astronomer, and a victim of racism and sexism. So, she just beat them all up, and even killed a few, and she kept this up until her death. Mallory and Alastor became closer however when Alastor became more famous in New Orleans, and they made the effort to spend time together. So, around when Mallory was in her early thirties.
Their relationship was different, it was weird. It was like platonic friends with benefits. They were both aroace, but they’d seen each other naked, and they hung out and slept over each other's houses often. They would dance together (Mallory could dance, and she often did so because of her culture). Mallory had met Mimzy, Mimzy was quite fond of her, but Mallory just didn’t like her as much. Mallory was also motherly (slightly), so it provided Alastor some comfort. But Alastor was cheery, and was like Mallory’s light at the end of the tunnel. They kissed… Maybe once? Who knew, but Mallory was Alastor’s first kiss. Mallory had already had sex and all that while figuring herself out (NOT WITH ALASTOR THAT MAN IS A VIRGIN💀), and soon realized she didn’t want anything and didn’t feel anything (aroace but it’s the 1920s so…). Their song would be either ‘I’ll Never Smile Again’ or ‘My Blue Heaven’.
Mallory created three major theories, and was always documenting her works. Turns out, she proposed the black hole idea first (it’s an AU I wanted to have fun :o).
When Alastor died, Mallory fell into depression. She didn’t have that same company she used to, and it stung. His funeral was difficult, and she cried a lot. Mallory murdered the bastard who killed Alastor to give her some spark but… It didn’t work. She felt more empty. But soon, she died as well from bludgeoning. A man who was jealous of Mallory’s success beat her to death with her telescope after Mallory invited him over to discuss theories. Mallory didn’t have the energy she used to have, and didn’t fight back.
—
When she went to hell, she acquired power rather quickly (not as quickly as Alastor of course). Her physical fighting skills gained her fear, and soon, souls were sold to her, and she gained magical powers as well. Mallory was an overlord by now, and was known as ‘Our mother Neptune’. And 30 years later, Mallory was reunited with Alastor. They began a queer platonic relationship (they didn’t call it that they were still in denial about their sexuality). More romantic and/or ‘sexual’ things in their relationship (not really but they began experimenting).
Alastor visits Mallory as often as he can currently, and Mallory will sometimes help the hotel.
