Scrimshawed sailor's mallets in graduated sizes, used in rope working, these all are marked 'HBE', 7" to 3" long, 14" in a handmade dittybag with macrame loop
my band has a mallet warm up called "roller blades" and it was made by one of the seniors who just graduated. it's a hell of a lot of fun. it's a faster version of an old warmup, which was called "rollercoaster", but roller blades is also harder. yeah, i can play rollercoaster, but roller blades is so much more fun!!! also, the guy who made it? he was the one who taught me how to play mallets. i was taught roller blades by the master himself, so i know the best way to hit the pattern!!!
if i were to do it on c major, this is what it would be like-
(sorry it's so long it really only takes about a minute to play lmao)
Went down a new age rabbit hole the other night on a site selling singing bowls and reiki crystals. "Bags (easy to carry)" is funny, and I know they mean small soft mallets to ring bowls with, but "Mallets (comfortable)" just took me out at the knees.
[ID: A screengrab of an in-site sales ad reading "Our healing gift: Receive a free gift with your order" and showing three offers: A bag marked "Free bags, easy to carry", a graphic of a tablet marked "Ebook for beginners", and an image of several small "musical" mallets reading "Mallets, comfortable".]
It's OK, I’ve taken percussions
Enjoy "TumbL" our latest offering. 3rd in the Universe 25 series, this cyclonic instrumental tumults musical strength in 3's amidst guitar & vibraphone arpeggio trade-offs, battling over minefields of churning bass, synth triplets & pummeling drums. Bandcamp has it free here:
