It will always confound me as to how the Sly Cooper fandom doesn’t perceive Arpeggio as an objectively physically attractive character in the series.

The developers cooked with his design and I’m the only one enjoying the meal.

Neglected to report here that between Thursday night of last week and this past Wednesday night I had TWO Arpeggio dreams, first one was spicy and the second was just sweet but y’all are probably surprised to learn that I don’t dream about Arpeggio as often as one would assume (most of my dreams are based in real life/realistic places and involve people I know irl), especially since he’s on my mind in my waking life just about every minute LOL.

I obviously won’t go into details about last week’s dream (it was spicy, that’s all y’all need to know) but the other night it was me as my falcon sona on a bed with our two oldest children and husbird was sweet and cuddled next to me before asking if I wanted the blanket on me. I declined saying I’s get too warm and the kids would get even warmer because they were under me (just bird things), but he slipped the sheet over me instead. I then woke up actually feeling pretty damn warm because the humidity in my room got too high LOL but I felt Arpeggio’s body and him putting the sheet over me in my dream and WEEEEEEEEEEEEE

The time I "came out" about loving Arpeggio

I’m actually unsure if I’ve ever told this story on this blog, but it was a very profound and humorous moment in my life that I think needs to be shared here. Strap in, y'all. This is gonna be STUPID.

So I finished my first ever playthrough of Sly 2 in early August 2009, when I was 11 years old, and at this age I was trying to stop crushing on fictional characters in an attempt to be “more mature”. Mind you, most of my crushes throughout my life were fictional characters. Like, all except for two serious crushes until this point were fictional, a good chunk of them being non-human to boot. Yep, I was definitely too grown at the old age of 11 to be in love with fictional characters, I had to lock in. But then I played Sly 2, and early on in my first run of the game I forced myself to like Sly so that my younger sister and niece (they’re the same age) could be “with” Bentley and Murray respectively, and we’d all be the girlfriends of the Cooper Gang. But I didn’t really like Sly. Not like that, anyway. Besides, it was all in fun, as I was still well on the path to reaching maturity by not catching feelings for fictional characters. That was, until after I played the mission Blimp HQ Recon for myself.

In the couple of weeks after I had finished Sly 2 for the first time, I was fighting my rapidly-developing feelings for Arpeggio, and I reached the point where I could deny no longer—I was in love with Arpeggio. Of course, I had to tell someone. Someone I loved and trusted to admit my shame. That person was my younger sister, Aley, the one who I forcibly paired with Bentley and who had watched me play a good portion of the game as she did back then, and therefore was closest in my life who was most familiar with the source of my confession’s subject.

One evening, Aley and I were in my room, laying on my bed watching T.V., another shared pastime of ours as much as her watching me play video games was. During a commercial break, I rolled over to face her and said with a mild graveness, “Hey, Aley? Can I tell you something? But you can’t tell Mom and Dad”. My sister, who was freshly 6 years old at the time, nods her head. “Remember Arpeggio from Sly 2?” I said, “I think I have a crush on him.”

Aley jumps off the bed and bolts out of my bedroom and into the living room where my parents are chilling and also watching T.V.. I chased after her yelling, begging her to not reveal my secret to them, but she stood before my parents and declared “SAM HAS A CRUSH ON ARPEGGIO!” 

See, my parents actually didn’t give a single damn, because as I said, nearly all of my crushes up until that point were fictional, non-human characters, so my sister's breaking announcement was like telling them that the sun rose that day. I’ll never forget their deadpan expressions looking at my sister as she yelled this while I, panicked, pleaded with them to not believe her. But they did, and they all but shrugged.

Now here we are, nearly 17 years later, and Arpeggio remains the love of my life. My sister, who immediately exposed me after I confessed my budding affection for him but with absolutely no consequences rendered unto me, remains one of my biggest supporters of my love for Arpeggio. Well, perhaps she more accepts than supports it, but I suppose I still made the right choice of person to “come out” to, LMAO.

Sometimes I think about how giddy I was when I found out Sly 4 was going to have time travel and hoped so hard that maybe, just maybe, my handsome Arpeggio would somehow make a return or a cameo, and then how hollowed I felt when I found that all he got was a mere mention in a loading screen like COME ON.
