responding to your digital circus post, it's totally transmisogyny. Like people would NOT be having this reaction if it wasn't a trans woman writer getting popular with a series that focuses on a trans woman character. The amount of crazy down right transmisogynistic bullshit I've seen people say about goose is CRAZY.
I mean, as a blak trans guy who grew up around an irl community of mostly trans women and as a result often witnessed how y'all r treated in society I was already very sceptical of the discourse around gooseworx (because it feels like every time a trans woman becomes known for her work suddenly everyone switches up like "no guys!! Trust me She was actually EVIL this whole time!1!1!") but looking into it further, it has only become more apparent to me that this backlash for sure because she is trans. Most of the "evidence" is shit that cis women get away with saying and doing all the time but it's apparently somehow different when a trans woman does it.
And I think a lot of the discourse around Jax as a character (and why people really can't handle her) stems from the idea a lot of people (including other trans people) hold that trans women in particular need to "earn" their right to womanhood by being perfect 100% moral angels all the time with zero human complexity..
You totally already knew all of this and definitely have better insite on it than someone like I would, so not trying to mansplain to you lol. Just thought your post was thought provoking enough to yap about (if I've got anything wrong here feel free to lmk!!)

No you're absolutely right
Realistic portrayals of abuse is honestly very common in TV shows and media generally and doesn't result in this kind of discourse, and cartoon violence, even verbally, is also very common in its own genres and doesn't result in discourse.
But suddenly you have a TMA character by a TMA creator doing verbal and physical cartoon violence, and suddenly its abuse that gets treated like a real person did it. This is an example of a very important feature of transmisogyny where TMA people are treated with the most uncharitable reaction possible. Jax's cartoon violence needs an accountability process, where men in TV shows are very realistically oppressive and suddenly it's "fair".
