How did Rook end up as Malleus’s pet? I’m honestly a little curious. Like I can only imagine a scenario like the villagers hated being hunted by Rook and so when his guard was down they like tied him up and just threw him in the woods far from town where he was found on the outskirts of briar valley or even the garden and Malleus just went ooh mine now and maybe tossed him to Vil as like a pet project cause Lilia said pets need mental stimulation too (he either doesn’t know or doesn’t care that Lilia was referring to ACTUAL pets)
i was thinking rook was actually found by baul and his men when he because briar valley and the afterglow/sunset savanna were having conflicts (this is also when leona + his attendants were taken prisoner). he accidentally stumbled upon a fae camp and the fae sensed him immediately. if malleus hadn’t shown up to join the upcoming battle, rook probably would’ve been…stress relief….for the fae soldiers. malleus found him interesting bc he was a virgin nymph and kind of wanted to ‘tame’ him. and vil was so lonely…nymph companionship would especially bring some comfort
