Question about Mal's design. Can Mal dull and sharpen his teeth at will, like how he can turn his hand into a claw, or are his teeth always sharp? o?o -wa

nah, his teeth are always that sharp, it’s kinda like... with some demons that were born topside (like from demon bloodlines, not people that have gone to hell to be demonized) how demonic you look depends on how corrupted your soul is/how corrupted your bloodline is. I think mal’s bloodline’s a liiiiittle different because his particular strain of demonic magic is all about suppression and stuff, he can’t actually do any proper demonic magic but he has a natural magic suppressing aura that makes it a lot harder for other magic users to cast around him, ect (it all depends on how powerful they are) but i’m pretty sure that’s affected his appearance as well, otherwise he and his family would appear CONSIDERABLY more demonic. but yeah, as he grew and became more corrupted, that resulted in his ears, slit pupils, the eye glow and his teeth. if he’d continued down the path he was on, he probably would have ended up much worse. 

the claw/scales thing is part of his demon form, since moooost demons have a fully demonized form (obviously topside demons wouldn’t normally stick with this, since not all live in supernatural communities) and mal very rarely goes through with the whole transformation because a) it’s extremely painful and b) he honestly depises his demon form. so the claws is the only part he can shift easily and at will, because he’s had the most practice with it (mostly for convenience sake, they make very good weapons.)

but yeah, the more corrupted mal gets, the more he will appear like his full demon form. but i’m relatively certain that process is going to slow/stop once certain plot things happen, because it’ll be a good influence on him. ;w;...
