Summary: Aziraphale had always thought that Crowley had understood what he meant when he said he was going to get a reprimand. To be fair, so had Crowley.

Comments: The basic premise of this is that when Aziraphale says he got “reprimanded” it wasn’t a stern-talking to. It was very unpleasant corporal punishment, but well, Angels just can’t go around announcing that, can they? And Crowley is not pleased when he finds out, and Aziraphale, when he finds out that in this case, Heaven is a million times worse than Hell, well that revelation is shocking. 

It’s the delayed realization that you were abused, only recognizable now that you’re out and damn do I feel that.
