Yes, gimme all the Jack love. The Fake AH Crew family was rather... dysfunctional. They say family was those you choose, not those who you shared blood with. And Jack believed that, to a point. The boys she gave her love and life to were absolutely her family. And she felt like she played two roles, rather like Geoff did - she was a lover, first and foremost, and she adored that part. Her boys were all the best lovers she could ask for. But she also played the role as reluctant mother. She didnât mind it, of course - she liked taking care of her boys, making sure they were fed and hydrated and clean and lived happy lives. But she wished that sometimes they would take better care of themselves. They were all old enough to be independent adults, but with her acting as mom all the time, they sometimes forgot to do it. She shouldnât be expected to have dinner ready every night for when they were hungry, but if she didnât, they whined and whimpered or ordered shit takeout that theyâd all eat until they were sick. They had a harsh, rigorous day job and they all needed to be in shape. Eating Chinese food by the bucket, or god forbid, In-and-Out burgers every night, wasnât exactly going to make them ready for running three miles away from the cops. So, she cooked. She made healthy meals and made sure they were taking care of themselves. She also cleaned the penthouse (Michael was good at helping with that, but the others were useless), grocery shopped, did the dishes, did laundry.... and frankly, she was at her wits end.One Saturday night, armed with groceries (text to help bring them up ignored) and stomping up the stairs, she frankly had it. They could starve for all she fucking cared. She slammed the door open to the penthouse and was about to scream when two things happened in quick succession. Two Lads darted forward to take the grocery bags out of her arms and she was treated to the view of a spotless penthouse and dinner already roasting on the stove. In front of her were three other bashful Fakes. Geoff had an apron on and was standing, looking rather miserable. Ryan was glancing over his shoulder as he tended a bubbling pot. And Michael was setting the table and lighting about ten candles.Michael finally spoke up. âWe felt bad,â he admitted. âWe always make you do all the work.â He shuffled his feet and put the last plate down. âWe made food. And got you flowers.â And there they were, in a pretty vase. â....sorry, Jack.âThe boys holding her groceries - Gavin and Jeremy - put them down and attacked her from both sides with lovely hugs. âWeâre sorry,â Jeremy murmured into her side. Gavin nodded. âWeâre shitty people.âRyan darted over to press a soft kiss on her forehead before racing back over to his pot. Geoff waited until she moved into the kitchen before scooping her into a hug and giving her a warm kiss. Michael added to the hug pile of the Lads. She swallowed. âWhatâs all this for?â Her voice was a bit choked.Geoff grinned. âNo particular reason. Just to show you we love you. And to promise weâll help out more often.â Hugged by the Lads and feeling the other Gentâs warm smiles, she felt her bad mood vanish in the breeze. She doubted this would last, but would take what she could get. âI love you all.âThe chorus of responses was worth every second of frustration. God, she loved her boys.
