Though she had been there for quite some time -- forever, it felt like, Spoons still sometimes had trouble feeling like she was home. Her room didn’t have much flavor to it, even still. What she needed was a good, old-fashioned sleepover.

She hummed a tune as her fingers nimbly plaited Mar1′s hair into a thick braid. “Have you seen the new guy in HR? So cute.”

Spoons let out a loud, exasperated sigh just as she threw her arms around Mar1's shoulders. "Being a secretary is hard work!" she complained. Her skirt was shredded, there were ink stains on her blouse, and her usually immaculate hair was a mess.

“Well now how in the hell does a computer lose count?” Mar10nette laughed, shuffling through the stacks.  “Looks like these two devil dolls made off again…think there’s enough here to get us to New York after we paint the town?”

“Easy! It gets borin’ and then I start thinkin’ what we’re gonna do wit’ all this bread!” She rolled onto her back, clutching a couple stacks of cash to her chest. Apparently she was done counting. “It’s gotta be enough! We have so much!”

She tensed when she heard a siren and stared over at Mar10nette as she waited for it to fade away.

Workers scurried from an open doorway, ducking as several glass beakers sailed through the air and crashed against the opposite wall. One man held a hand over his face as he retreated, stumbling over his coworkers feet in his need to escape.

“Just GET OUT!” Spoons screeched, her voice glitching and warping as she reached for something else to throw. 

Spread out on the worktables around Spoons were blueprints and notes, all diligently compiled by the same workers she had just assaulted. It was all there, lists of all her parts, diagrams and guidelines, everything that made her her. 

So what was missing?

She let out another frustrated cry and sent the papers flying.
