trigger/content warning;; childhood abuse, alcoholic parent, death of a sibling, drug use, depression, horrible, unhealthy coping mechanisms
aesthetics;; splashes of ink on a canvas // melancholic rap music // flashing blue neon lights // the sight of a room through a alcohol/drug induced haze // shelves lined with filled sketchbooks // video game controllers lying on the floor // comic book styled self-portraits // messy, desolated household // thunderstorms // illustrative tattoos
about;; Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Kain was born and raised in a broken household. His father was neglectful and an abusive, alcoholic father and a cowardly mother who only watched on as him and his brother was treated badly. As the older sibling, Kain took on most of the abuse in an attempt to protect his brother from the worst of it. As soon as the moment came up he left Chicago, hopping in a car with a friend, and going wherever the wind took them.
Unfortunately this mean abandoning his younger brother. Two years after he left he would receive news of his brother’s death. Fear of confronting his parents kept him from traveling back to Chicago for the funeral, and he would spend two months in mourning and locking himself away from the world.
When he snapped out of brooding and dwelling on the pain of losing his brother, Kain turned his focus to his artistic talents. Art had always been his best friend and a constant companion, and once he scored an apprenticeship at a tattoo parlor he fell in love with tattoos. He would train under his master for three years before finishing his apprenticeship, only to be forced to leave once again after the shop closed down. This time traveling on his own he took the risk in heading to New York, and was lucky to find employment at a tattoo parlor who took notice of his talents. It was soon after he arrived that he began to dive more into the nightlife scene, making a frequent habbit of going to clubs and parties and indulging in drugs. As unhealthy as it is, it helps alleviate all the pain he feels burdened with. He feels alive and unbroken, unaware that it’s all an unhealthy way in dealing with all his problems. Plus he loves the freedom he feels from it all, and then at home and work finds more freedom in getting lost in his art or video games.
wanted;; fellow tattoo artists/co-workers, a found family of friends, hookups and one-night stands, his childhood best friend who followed him to New York, an ex-boyfriend who he occasionally still meets with and bangs (maybe still has feelings for), all the bad influences, chaotic friends, EVERYTHING!!

ANAYLEI CHRYSTAL PRINCE, 26
shooting guard for the new york liberty
- - - ( chantel jeffries ) // she & her
height: 5′5″
build: athletic but slim, she’d like to say that she watches what she eats but her athletic lifestyle gives her the freedom of indulging in junk food. Although she doesn’t necessarily need help in maintaining her figure she’ll detox on and off throughout the season and works out with weights in between games & practices to keep her tone.
- - - ( vivacious // dominating // philophobic )
style: On any given day you can find Anaylei sporting a different aesthetic. Known as a versatile fashion icon, she can just as easily make a track suit and a fanny pack sexy as she can a tight red dress. It all depends on the occasion. When lounging around she's more attracted to a casual look, jeans and a simple top or a matching set similar to those found on fashion nova - the only difference is, her's probably cost the amount of your monthly income. Nevertheless, you can always trust that if she's diamonds or sneakers, she's always sporting that infamous dimpled smile.
habits: reading texts first thing in the morning and not responding / rubbing her hands together when nervous / shutting herself in a beach house on the offseason / running at any sign of commitment / forgetting to take her medicine / spending hours at the gym when upset / walking incredibly fast / standing updates / cancelling doctors appointments out of anxiety / showing up to her therapists office unannounced / laughing when nervous or at the wrong time / keeping phone on do not disturb
forget my name at midnight

Dennis Prince was the MVP of the NBA world in the 90's. With not only trophies but a nation of beloved fans, colleagues and teams that hoped to buy his loyalty. he was stuck by City that built him, his home; New York. Dennis might have been a player to the ladies but he took care of the few children he had sprinkled across America. There was a family in Lousiana, One in California and his wife and two kids that carried his name and Legacy there in New York City. No matter who he spent the most time with, they all felt the same sting when he'd get gunned down after a game in 2001.
It was like the nation mourned, the play-offs were postponed and his team almost pulled from the rest of the season. instead of staying in the city Dennis loved so much Evangeline took the kids moved out to California; maybe all that sunshine could shed some light on the ominous shade that now covered them. Anaylei was loved and cared for, and also attracted to the orange-colored ball her daddy loved so much. Evangeline almost didn't want to give her the choice of such a career, but anaylei would wake up to play basketball in their backyard in the middle of the night; she couldn't ever sleep anyway. Evangeline tried everything. Soccer, cheer leading, soft ball - even wrestling, but nothing made Anaylei feel the way that a court did.
to her siblings she was a typical older sister.. While aware of her siblings all across America she only met the two that lived in Los Angeles and even then it took a lot of Evangeline's pride for that to happen. Eventually, they would all gather for the usual holidays and a few birthdays and even though they'd all lost their father they had gained each other. Evangeline split the inheritance from Dennis, and all three families would move to Calabasas within only a few blocks of each house. All of Dennis' children would approach different paths, except for Anaylei and her older brother Traece, he hated being called that so he just went by trae. In the summer of their sixth-grade year they stayed up with the stars and played basketball, often making one of their younger siblings play the announcer role. Such a time was much simpler, Anaylei misses it, but; not much of it she remembers.
With a full-ride scholarship to college, she met her brother at NYU and the two lived off campus. the way those streets felt was eerie, and they even visited the arena, the piece of sidewalk their dad died on. They ran into people who told anaylei she had her father's dimples and trae how he had his eyes. They visited his old hood which Evangeline and their grandma warned them about but they were kids they wouldn't listen. What was most important was that she didn't find someone there - someone meaning a boy cause Evangeline liked to ignore that her daughter often had a closer relationship with her girlfriends. However while she had boyfriends, all the time - she often let them go too easily. They'd start to control her and she would lose interest which often meant blocking their number and avoiding them at all costs. Girls were different, but she was never exclusive with them not so much out of fear but more, because she didn't understand this sexuality thing. It was hard, cause, she didn't like the guys at NYU, or other athletes that reminded her of her brother. Trae's friends were all so... so much like him and it made her cringe and her stomach uneasy. So the first guy she ever dated was a music major, from the same hood as her father and while she kept it a secret; the internet didn't.
eventually, they'd break it off when Trae made his point known that he didn't like the kid - but at the same time, Anaylei was thankful because she was just about to fall in love. Still they played each other on and off for years, but when old feelings came back Anaylei ran for the hills and would ghost him for 6 monhs. Anaylei was making quite the name for herself was trae got drafted by the NBA and dropped out of college. Anayalei's follower count on social media went up before the WNBA even began showing up to her games. The adoration for Dennis Prince's young daughter definitely helped her with getting sponsors and brands to back her up. While California had always been home and she had other teams reach out but she signed her contract with the New York Liberty while Trae signed with the Knicks.
All was going as planned until they went home and were driving on the 405 and from out of nowhere a semi sideswiped her range rover and caused a pile up that projected trae from the car. Anaylei got out without a scratch except for a concussion that left her in a coma for fourteen days. Trae got the worst of it, and he could never play again. Anaylei missed that whole season in 2016, going to therapy and physical therapy for a few hurt muscles and ligaments, she was almost cleared right away but her brother wasn't and it was only when he agreed to manage her that she'd go back to playing.
After the accident Anaylei had even more anxiety than before which lead to any relationship or dating experience being unsuccessful. While still toying with the same guy she had been with since college, gossip blogs caught her at a club cozied up with another girl. None of it matter's anyway, not the rumors of her sexuality or the question of the mystery man she runs out to juniors with at three in the morning.
The world is watching, and she's just soaking it up, living life the way her father would've wanted as she approaches the age he was when he passed. while also taking care of her brother, the guilt eats away at her some times, the ptsd strikes her enough to take her to the gym and work it out for 6 hours through weights or the treadmill. Something in her is always running, from potential relationships, from conversations, she doesn't want to have? Things are just simple if you avoid them, and that is the name of her game.
